Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home

The staff and residents at the home have been mixing up batter and flipping pancakes all morning in preparation for their annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Day celebrations.

Chater Lodge has marked this year’s Pancake Day with a pancake flipping competition, a create your own toppings activity and a pancake race! and of course, lots of pancakes! Marcin Szpak, chef at the home, flipped more than 100 pancakes, serving them up with sweet and savoury fillings for all the eager staff and residents. 
 

Our home was delighted to receive a cheque from the Round Table Stamford 611 for £500 for the home to install a water feature in our grounds for the residents to enjoy in the summertime.

The care home welcomed James Wright Chairman of the Stamford Round Table and Stewart Humm to the home for a coffee morning with our residents and enjoy a selection of sweet treats and refreshments with our residents during the cheque presentation. 
 

At the home, Valentine's Day is not just about romantic love, but also about the strong bonds of friendship and companionship that exist among our residents. 

We took the opportunity to celebrate the caring relationships that make our community so special , residents, family and friends enjoyed a magical operatic performance from the amazingly talented Gabriella. And enjoyed a themed menu for lunch and chocolate’s for all.

We enjoyed an outing to Birch tree cafe, a beautiful, spacious café in the picturesque village of Easton on the Hill.

The cafe serves a fine selection of tasty, high-quality food and beverages, and are partly staffed by young adults with Down’s Syndrome who enjoy serving the visitors.

Our residents indulged in the most delicious Milky Way cake, washed down with the biggest cappuccino.
It was particular special for Michael and Jack who met people they knew from the village, and Micheal going back to somewhere he used to visit regularly

Residents from around the home gathered for our 'Mocktails and Memories' event, which soon turned into 'Cocktails and Memories'! Our residents and colleagues enjoyed sharing stories from the past and toasting to good times ahead.

Our team were on hand with a variety of refreshing recipes for our residents to sample and discuss with the Shirley Temple being a favourite drink enjoyed by all. 

Staff and residents at Chater Lodge are celebrating National Activity Providers & Professionals Week, which takes place from January 20-24. Residents and staff wanted to thank the wonderful activities team at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of the residents] living there. 

National Activity Providers & Professionals Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide to residents and patients.  Each and every member of the team at Chater Lodge offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this everyone at the home is truly grateful.
