Activities at Broadway Halls Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Scott Bates
Hi I'm Scott, and I am privileged to be the Activities Co-ordinator at Broadway Halls.
Our Residents are special people with many wonderful stories to tell about their lives, and it is my job to understand their life history, their interests and theirs needs in order to deliver a person centred life enrichment programme.
I enjoy putting smiles on their faces as often as I can. I love to entertain and aim to ensure that every resident's interests and hobbies are supported. I have worked in care and in activities in previous roles, and I love my job!
Outside of work, I am busy being a Father, I try to play football and have a keen interest in metal detecting.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Broadway Halls Care Home

Visit from the Mayor of Dudley & Townsguild Ladies Choir
What a fantastic day at Broadway Halls! The wonderful TG Singers - Sedgley entertained us with their Christmas choir, where they sang classic Christmas hits, each with a different message. They even had a special guest in the audience in Cllr Andrea Goddard, Mayor of Dudley. We were honoured to introduce Andrea to our residents and stuff and give her a tour of the home after the performance.
As a surprise to us, Sedgley E Townswomen's Guild led a community project to make crafty christmas trees from knitted and crocheted squares (one in All Saints Church and one in St Chad’s Church, Coseley). As they couldn’t bring trees to show residents, they made additional squares into blankets to donate. We were very lucky and received a blanket to keep!
Thank you for your kind gift, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all at Broadway Halls.

Priory Primary School's Carol Concert
Thank you to Priory Primary School for letting us attend the pupils' festive carol and Christmas show at St Francis' Church in Dudley.
We popped along with some of our residents, who really enjoyed the festive show and their own version of some traditional Christmas songs. They really made it their own, subtley swapping the classic 5 'gold rings' in the 12 Days of Christmas with 5 Brussel sprouts instead! We were also surprised to see some family members of one of our residents in the concert - she was over the moon to see them.
We had a wonderful time, thank you to Priory Primary School for inviting us!

Fire Station Visit
The ladies at Broadway Halls were invited to Wolverhampton Fire Station for a tour and show round with hot drinks, cake and biscuits. The ladies got to meet red watch crew on duty that day and the station commander. There were many stories told and memories made! Thank you for the invite.

Bonfire Night
It may have been a day after Bonfire Night but we still fully enjoyed our Live Entertainment from Debbie Miles & Fireworks display yesterday. Everybody enjoyed an Traditional Black Country dish, Grey Peas and Bacon to start Followed by Hot Chocolate and Baileys and then we were ready for the Firework display!
Thank you for everyone who came and supported the event. The wonderful colours, sparkles, crackles and sounds got everyone to the big open windows on all floors to watch from inside and stay warm.
Some Residents braved the cold and rain to light a sparkler for a few minutes.. it brought back so many memories.

Diwali Celebrations
On Friday we celebrated Diwali.. with our very own party with Bollywood dancers and a Indian cuisine buffet. Staff, residents, family and friends, students of Dudley College and people from local community joined in the fun.

Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday Well done Dudley borough for organising it.
