Your journey with us has been filled with countless moments of care, support, and genuine connections. Whether it’s through the comforting presence you provide, the heartfelt conversations, or the smiles you bring to those in your care, your contributions are truly invaluable.

Perfectly timed in the middle of a heatwave, staff and residents at Brampton View care home had a fantastic time celebrating National Ice Cream Day, a brilliant excuse to sample lots of cooling treats.

Overseen by Head Chef Glenn Coombs, staff and residents experimented with many different types of toppings and flavour combinations, from the exotic, to the alcoholic, and back to the traditional – sorbets, frozen yogurt and good old dairy-based ice cream, they tasted and savoured them all.

General Manager, Mo Masedi said: “It wasn’t just the residents that were excited when we found out there was a National Ice Cream Day, the eyes of the staff lit up too!  Who doesn’t love ice cream?  We have all had a great time trying out new flavours and toppings, it was a wonderful way to keep cool in the heat.”

Judith, a resident said: “I absolutely love ice cream!  There really isn’t anything nicer on a hot summer’s day.  We have had loads of toppings to make the sundaes with. They have all been truly delicious!”

Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Brampton View Care Home to enjoy a community BBQ that was held in the home’s grounds on Saturday 20th July 2024.

The hospitality team at Brampton View Care Home served a selection of BBQ favourites including traditional burgers and hotdogs which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

Guests included friends and family to the residents and staff at the home. The team at the home also invited local singer Lorenzo who performed a range of classic hits from throughout the years, which many of the guests sang along to. Lucia’s Tiny Farm also paid a visit and guests were able to interact with the animals throughout the event.

Resident, Pat said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the day surrounded by lots of great people. We had a few drops of rain but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together.”

Mo Masedi, General Manager at the home, said: “Staff at Brampton View Care Home are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off. It was a resounding success!”

Brampton View care home, in Northampton have partnered with Kingsthorpe Grove Primary School to enable the residents of the care home and children from the primary school weekly visits to share stories and experiences with each other. As the school year comes to a close Brampton View care home hosted a goodbye party to say thank you and good luck to the children who have been visiting them this year.

Brampton View wanted to host a party to show their appreciation to the school and children for all they have done throughout their visits and how much joy they have brought to the home. The party was full of traditional games including pass the parcel, musical statues and balloon games as well as singing to favourite songs from both generations.

The hospitality team at the care home provide a selection of sweet treats for the event including a fresh fruit platter and homemade cupcakes.

General Manager, Mo Masedi of Brampton View Care Home, said: “We invited the group to the home for a goodbye party to say thank you for all the joy they have brought us this year, the residents at our home had a lot of fun on the day, and love our young visitors. We will miss them over the summer break but look forward to meeting a new class in September.”

Pat, a resident of Brampton View Care Home commented “We will miss seeing the children, they are the highlight of my week. The party was a nice way to say goodbye and I hope that they remember the fun they had with us.”

Brampton View Care Home in Northampton opened their doors to a world of possibilities and exploration thanks to virtual reality headsets.

Welcoming in Northampton based Virtual Reality Therapies who allow those receiving virtual reality therapy to navigate through digitally created environments, incorporating specially designed tasks tailored to treat a specific condition or simply enjoy a relaxing and therapeutic environment. The residents and staff at Brampton View Care Home were able to visit countries around the world and experience a wealth of different events including swimming with dolphins in the Bahamas and jetting off to space! They were also given the chance to revisit places that hold significant memories to them from throughout their lives. one resident in particular chose to revisit the church where she married her husband.

Virtual Reality Therapies are a local company who specialise in helping individuals escape from their lives and experience something different. They offer experiences and services to schools, care homes, hospitals and charities. They have a keen focus on pain management and well being during their visits. Founder of Virtual Reality Therapies Rebecca Gill is a trained nurse who now specialises in virtual reality therapy. Rebecca is keen for this experience to be of benefit to as many individuals as possible.

General Manager Mo Masedi of Brampton View Care Home, said: “This is an incredible activity and we are so happy our residents are able to experience these events from the comfort of their chair. It brings such joy to everyone and we are thankful to VR therapies for being able to offer this to us.”
 

Judy, a resident at the home said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my walk through the African Safari Park and can’t believe how realistic it looked. I was able to interact with the animals and see things I’ve never seen before.”

Brampton View Care Home, in Northampton invited members of the local community to an afternoon Advice Clinic with local business and service providers. The event was organised to offer residents of Brampton View Care Home, family of residents and members of the local community a chance to speak with experts in their respective fields and have their questions answered.  

The Advice Day featured individuals from the local PCSO, GamCare Gambling Support, Just Try 1 Comforts and Community Law Service from Northampton. They each brought with them information leaflets and equipment for everyone to sample. Questions were answered and individual tailored advice given.

Those in attendance were able to try beds and recliner chairs as well as other specialist equipment, join neighbourhood schemes to alert them of crimes or criminal activity in their area and discuss any financial concerns they may have.

The companies who joined the event were grateful for the opportunity to speak to more individuals about the services they can provide.

General Manager Mo Masedi said: “We’re enjoyed having the industry specialists come in to help ease the concerns of those worried about various topics and being able to offer advice on life. Brampton View Care Home are always available to provide support and advice about care to anyone who needs it.”
