Activities at Brampton View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Mandala Moon Therapies Visit Residents for Sound Bath
What a beautiful and unique experience our residents had today with a beautiful sound bath performed by Ashleigh from Mandala Moon Therapies.
Ashleigh brought her incredible collection of chimes, gongs, drums, and sound bowls, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. Many residents were deeply engaged, with some even drifting off into a peaceful sleep, waking up feeling refreshed and curious with plenty of questions around the session afterwards.
Residents stated "It was definitely "different" but oh-so-pleasant! Ashleigh is such a wonderful person, and we loved having her here with us today".

Vintage Ruby Brings Sunshine and Music to Our Residents
We soaked up every bit of this gorgeous summer afternoon here at Brampton View today! Our residents were treated to an incredible visit from the one and only Vintage Ruby, who brought her charming vintage singalong classics to life.
It was so lovely to see everyone enjoying the sunshine together, indulging in ice creams and ice lollies. The atmosphere was buzzing with happy foot-tapping, clapping, and singing – some residents even got up to dance with our staff! - and why not!
Mo Masedi, General Manager stated "We can't thank Vintage Ruby enough for such a memorable and joyful afternoon. We heard fantastic feedback, including "I've had the loveliest afternoon, I didn't want it to end" and "She was absolutely wonderful, I loved all of the songs!"

Blue Diamond Garden Centre Visit for our Residents
Sunshine, smiles, and shopping!, our residents had a wonderful mini-bus trip to Blue Diamond Garden Centre last week. It was a lovely hot day, and we found some welcome shade as our residents enjoyed exploring every nook and cranny, from the vibrant flowers and charming ornaments to the stylish clothes and unique home décor.
There was plenty to see, touch, and inspire! Everyone found a little something special to take home, making a few lovely purchases along the way.
These outings are more than just a change of scenery; they are incredibly beneficial for our residents' well-being. Getting out and about helps to boost mood, stimulate the senses, and encourage physical activity. It's a wonderful opportunity for our residents to connect with each other, share stories, and create new memories outside of our home environment.
Regular trips to local attractions, areas of natural beauty and other excursions are important parts of our life enrichment program and feature often on our resident-led activity planners. We're already looking forward to our next venture!
Buckton Fields Primary School End of Summer Term Visit
Another thank you to the wonderful children and teachers from Buckton Fields for their fantastic visits! We've adored every interaction and seen first-hand how much they've uplifted our residents' moods. It's also been a joy to watch the children's confidence grow right before our eyes.

Kingsthorpe Grove Nursery Final Day
What a truly special time it's been with the wonderful children and teachers from Kingsthorpe Grove visiting us! Their visits have brought so much joy and countless smiles to our residents throughout the year. We celebrated their final visit before the summer holidays together with balloons, music, and even little goody bags for them to take home.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to all the children and teachers for sharing their beautiful energy, songs, and games with us. The interaction between the generations is so rewarding and brings an incredible amount of happiness to everyone involved.
Mo Masedi, General Manager said "It has been an absolute pleasure for our residents to have such a great opportunity to have the children from the schools come to the home to visit with us. They bring such joy and laughter to so many of our residents who may not have as may visitors as others".

Reading Initiative with Moulton School & Science College
The students have wrapped up their reading program, which has been a delightful journey over the past few months. Every Thursday, they visited the home, where they paired up with their resident buddies to embark on an adventure in reading.
Together, the students and residents tackled challenges surrounding reading skills, comprehension, and building confidence. These weekly interactions blossomed into strong friendships, with some students choosing to spend their personal time visiting their resident buddies outside of school hours.
As the program came to a close, students and teachers presented a beautifully crafted montage picture frame, a representation of the special bond formed during their time together. This thoughtful gift showcased the wonderful memories created as they worked side by side.
The residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation, saying, "What a thoughtful gesture! We are all feeling overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness shown by the students and teachers during each visit. We will certainly miss them and can't wait for them to return for another session!"
Michelle Bowman, the Lead for Literacy at Moulton School, reflected on the initiative, stating, “This project has successfully achieved our goals—enhancing reading fluency and bolstering confidence in reading aloud among our students. More importantly, the relationships forged with the residents have profoundly enriched our students' lives. It has been a privilege to witness the laughter and conversations shared each week as they discovered common ground through reading. We are immensely grateful for the warm welcome we've received every Thursday!”

Residents and Staff Welcomes New Chief Operations Officer
The staff and residents recently extended a warm welcome to Natasha Lazovic, the newly appointed Chief Operations Officer, during her recent visit to the home.
In her new role, Natasha will oversee all operations across Barchester Healthcare, collaborating closely with the dedicated team of managing directors. With 11 years of experience at Barchester. In her commitment to fostering strong relationships, she plans to visit various homes and hospitals across all divisions to engage with more of the teams.

The home regularly hosts events and activities for both residents and the local communities. During her visit, Natasha toured the facility, met with staff and residents, and engaged in insightful discussions about the home’s initiatives, improvements, and the recent refurbishment it has undergone.
General Manager Mo Masedi expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “It was an absolute delight to welcome Natasha into our home and showcase the exceptional work we all do here at Brampton View. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Natasha on her achievements, particularly her well-deserved appointment as Chief Operations Officer.”

Residents Enjoy Another Wild Visit from ZooLab
This morning was buzzing with excitement as Chris from ZooLabs came by with an array of fascinating creatures, leaving residents on the edge of their armchairs! Chris, who seems to have a PhD in all things creepy crawly, dazzled everyone with his vast knowledge and answered questions easily.
The showcase kicked off with Casper, the albino snake, who could easily reach a whopping 5ft in the wild! Then, we met Elvis the tarantula, who had everyone doing a double-take when it turned out she’s actually female! Chris enlightened us on the fact that there are over 50,000 different types of spiders. And while they may have a multitude of eyes, they are essentially blind! So if you ever encounter a spider, don’t worry, it ‘can’t’ see you!
Next up was Brian the Landsnail, who was not just slow but incredibly curious, showing off his dazzling shell while saying a friendly “hello!” James the cockroach made a surprise cameo, and finally, we were greeted by the charming lizard known as Honey, who could charm the socks off anyone!
Residents left the event with big smiles, exclaiming, “What a great way to spend the morning! We love ZooLab and can’t wait for their next visit—we even got to meet a real spider this time!”
Our Activities Team is on a mission to ensure that we organise events that not only entertain but also invite our residents to share these moments with their families and friends at Brampton View. Our home is always open to loved ones who want to join in on our life enrichment program—after all, what’s better than bonding over critters and laughs?
Residents enjoyed a delightful morning of musical entertainment courtesy of the very talented David McFegan.
What a memorable Tuesday it was for our residents! David McFegan brought a captivating live music show that took everyone on an incredible journey through three decades of musical hits, filling the room with an infectious excitement!
David effortlessly navigated through the eras, from the lively dances of the 1940s to the timeless classics of the 1970s, his silken voice serenading our residents with each note. The atmosphere was steeped in nostalgia, with soft harmonies that evoked tales of love and laughter from a bygone era.
Live musical entertainment is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program, and we are committed to enhancing the experience. By involving residents in selecting genres and gathering feedback after each performance, we continually strive to improve our activities calendar, ensuring that everyone’s preferences are taken into account.
