Activities at Brampton View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

My name is Emma. I am the Activities Lead here at Brampton View. I joined the home in 2023 and I bring lots of new and exciting ideas to the role.

Having worked in the role before I am passionate about bringing a smile to all our residents faces and ensuring they make the most of their time here with us.

If you would like to come and chat with me about your family member then please contact the home to arrange this.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Beer Tasting

What better way to end our week than with beer tasting. We sampled a selection of beers and lagers accompanied with some nibbles and chose our favourites. This was such a fun activity for all involved and even got us singing some of our favourite songs! We have had some requests for gin tasting next time.

A visit from the Lollypop Ponies

This week we had a wonderful surprise for our residents, a visit from the lollipop ponies! Our residents were thrilled and a little stunned when the ponies walked into their bedrooms for some cuddles and a look around! We spend the time enjoying their company and remembering time spent with animals when we were younger and pony and donkey rides on the beaches on holidays.

Happy Birthday Betty!

This weekend we hosted a surprise 95th Birthday party for Betty. Her family asked for something special to be done to celebrate her birthday. The activities team alongside the kitchen planned an afternoon of party games and a buffet to accompany her personalised dachshund themed cake. Betty was surprised by her fellow residents and all her immediate family for the event. We had an afternoon of party games including pass the parcel, tin can alley and balloon games. We finished the party by enjoying the wonderful birthday cake and buffet the kitchen team had provided for the event

Mandy's Special Birthdya Experience

Mandy has always had a love of Tigers so what more could we do for her 80th Birthday than surprise her with a VIP Tiger experience at Woburn Safari Park. Mandy was able to spend the day visiting all the different animals around the park and then was accompanied by Keeper Helen for a VIP up close tiger experience where she learnt what was required to keep the big cats. Mandy was joined on her day out by Team Leader Lianne & Maintenance Assistant Steve. The trio returned absolutely exhausted after a day of fun and what Mandy called “the most wonderful day” upon return back to the home Mandy was greeted with her Tiger themed Birthday cake which she refused to cut as she loved it so much!
