Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

The residents and guests thoroughly enjoyed a morning filled with festive music, mulled wine, mince pies, and delightful company as our Christmas events scheduled carried on at pace.

They reminisced about Christmases past and shared their favourite festive memories. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon filled with merriment.

Heavenly voices rang out across the home as the community came together to celebrate Christmas with a carol concert.

We warmly welcomed the children from Boroughbridge Primary School and Nursery for a beautiful morning of Christmas carols. 

They performed a selection of all-time favourites, which brought happy memories to all. 

Our residents joined in with the singing, and clapped along. 

Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol. 

This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes.
A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience. 
 

Colleagues in the home swapped their uniforms for costumes on National Elf Day in an effort to raise funds and awareness to help people living with dementia.

Launched by the Alzheimer’s Society and delivered direct from the North Pole, Elf Day was created to sprinkle some festive cheer on fundraising towards finding a cure for dementia. From stripy socks to head-to-toe elf outfits, anything goes – there’s snow better way to raise money to help beat dementia.

On the day, residents and staff at Boroughbridge Manor were able to enjoy elf-themed games and held a wonderful cake bake sale paired with an afternoon of fun and games as the team at the home donned their elfish apparel. 

Barchester’s Boroughbridge Manor have been having fantastic fun hiding Santa’s reindeers and elves all over the Boroughbridge High Street for local children to find.

Staff and residents decided to challenge local children to find 9 reindeers and 7 of Santa’s Elves that are hiding in different shops and businesses along the town’s high street.  

Between Monday 2nd December until Sunday 15th December the Children have to write down the name of each reindeer and elf and where they have been found in order to take part in the festive hunt and will be rewarded with sweet treats by the home.
 

Boroughbridge Manor was full of animal mischief on Tuesday 26th November when we were delighted to welcome the Miniature Therapy Pony, Cartier when he came to visit the home.

Residents at Boroughbridge Manor were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friend roaming around and as he made his way around the home.

Although small in stature, Cartier had a huge heart as he went from resident-to-resident offering company, affection and cuddles.
