Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

Staff and residents at the home launched their brand-new community dementia café and were joined by our neighbours and friends from the local community.

Taking place every first Monday of the month from 10.30am – 12pm, residents from within the local community will have a chance to meet and chat over tea or coffee and homemade cakes provided by the home. Guests will also have a chance to take a tour of the home, and ask any questions they might have about care.
 

Staff and residents at Boroughbridge Manor are celebrating National Activity Providers & Professionals Week, which takes place from January 22-26. Residents and staff wanted to thank the wonderful activities team at the home, whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of the residents living there. 

National Activity Providers & Professionals Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide to residents and patients.  Each and every member of the team at Boroughbridge Manor offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this everyone at the home is truly grateful.
 

The Gracious Street Methodist Church alongside its partners at, Right at Home Harrogate, Knaresborough Connectors and Boroughbridge Manor Care Home as ‘Digitally Connected Knaresborough’ are hosting a special community event on Monday 27th January from 1pm until 3pm.

Starting at 1pm visiting seniors and members of the community will be able to come visit the group to enjoy a highly informative briefing on "Fall Prevention at Home: Fun Tips & Tech Tricks to Stay Safe" plus a drop-in clinic.

Members of the community can bring any question relating to computers, tablets/iPads, smartphones, apps or getting online. Bring your own device or borrow one of ours. Questions at all levels are welcomed.
 

Our residents had a wonderful experience as they took part in a namaste session.

Enjoying a sensory atmosphere of calming music, atmospheric lighting and sweet aromas. Our residents enjoyed a series of beauty treatments including hand massages and having their nails painted.

Others simply relaxed to the calming sounds of the soothing music.

Wednesday 8th January would have been Elvis Presley's 90th Birthday!  

We celebrated in true Boroughbridge Manor style by throwing a big Birthday bash! 

It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of music, fun and dancing courtesy of the fabulous Rebekah Austin and we even tried one of his favourite sandwiches; Peanut butter and banana!

Staff, residents, and relatives celebrated the New Year in style during the home's monthly community coffee morning.

The home's New Year's Coffee Morning was in full swing with music, virtual fireworks, and plenty of fizz. Residents enjoyed sparkling drinks and a selection of tasty treats prepared by our chefs, Karen and Robert.
