Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:

Krzysztof Bialczyk

General Manager

Hi, my name is Krzysztof, and I am General Manager here at Boroughbridge Manor. Welcome to our website!

Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Boroughbridge Manor has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.

I have worked for the healthcare sector since 2006. I moved from Poland to UK in 2006 after completing my degree in management and IT. I work with a team of people who genuinely care about residents and who work towards a common goal: to provide every resident and their families with the very best service and the highest standards of care.

I love my role and what I do and I am lucky to be supported by a fantastic team that demonstrate a nurturing warm and compassionate approach.

Ashley Bulmer

Team Leader – Rose Unit

Hi, my name is Ashley and I began working at Boroughbridge in June 2013 as a carer, following a short gap I returned in January 2018 as team leader looking after our residents in the Rose Unit. I thoroughly enjoy looking after the residents and spending time chatting to them and doing daily activities.

I continue to develop my skills to support our residents on a day-to-day basis. As team leaders we enjoy our jobs and enjoy any training that helps with our continued development that enhances the delivery of great Quality of Care to our residents within the home.

Marta Kowalewska

Team Leader – Lily & Daisy Units

Hi, my name is Marta and I joined the home in September 2011 working my way up from carer, senior carer and to team leader in January 2020. I support our residents on Lily and Daisy Units. I thoroughly enjoy looking after the residents and spending time chatting to them and doing daily activities.

I continue to develop my skills to support our residents on a day-to-day basis, I enjoy my job and enjoy any training that helps with our continued development that enhances the delivery of great Quality of Care to our residents within the home.

Louisa Pedder


I have been working for Barchester since January 2020 and Boroughbridge Manor since 2014. I started as a Hostess and moved to Receptionist in 2016, before being promoted to Administrator in 2017. 

I deal with all aspects of the administration in the home to ensure it runs smoothly, including ordering, recruitment, setting up contracts and manning the telephones. There's never a dull day!

Shelbie Taylor & Suzanne Scholfield

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Iain Hunt

Maintenance Manager

I joined Boroughbridge Manor as Maintenance Manager in 2016. I have worked in many roles within the home, including as a Team Leader, Home Trainer  and Activity Lead. I have worked for Boroughbridge Manor since 2012.

Maintenance is paramount when it comes to our residents, relatives and colleagues, and my role is to keep the home environment to the highest standards possible, ultimately creating a safe and warm place for our residents to live and my colleagues to work. 

I also manage and deal with contractors, keeping records up-to-date for our audits. I am the home's Health and Safety champion.

Anthony McElhone

Head Chef

Anthony is our amazing Head Chef.  He has a long professional history of whipping up culinary masterpieces and cooking.  Anthony plans our menus with our residents to provide all the home cooked meals that they recognise and enjoy.

Debra Scott

Administration Assistant

Debra is part of the reception team, she works the first half of the week and has excellent customer service skills.

She’s the friendly voice you’ll get at the beginning of the week when you call.  Nothing is too much trouble for Debra, and she’s a keen team player.

Hannah Taylor

Administration Assistant

Hannah is part of our reception team. Hannah has worked at Boroughbridge Manor since 2014 and in a number of roles - carer, senior, team leader and home trainer.

Hannah is studying another NVQ to add another string to her bow and draws on her background in dementia care, brain injury and psychology to provide great customer and resident care and advice.

Kim Cupit


Kim is one of our hostesses, she has worked for Boroughbridge Manor since 2013 and in a variety of roles – carer, senior carer to hostess.

Kim is one our most flexible team members and is always willing in go the extra mile to help the team.

Alexandra Rug

Senior Carer

Alex is one of our senior carers, she started as a carer and took on more responsibility in a senior position. Alex enjoys looking after the residents and the day to day running of the unit.  Alex always has a smile and a kind word to say.
