Susan Carter
General Manager
Hi, my name is Sue and I am General Manager here at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home. Welcome to our website!
Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.
I began my career in care in the early 1990’s initially as a care assistant progressing through to a regional support role and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. I have managed multiple homes including as a turnaround manager.
I enjoy building teams and ensuring my residents are living the best life and very passionate about ensuring the residents receive the best care, experience.
I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Lynnette Sellers
Home Deputy Manager
Lynette became a part of the Boroughbridge Manor family in the summer of 2024 and takes great pride in her role as our Home Deputy Manager.
She is dedicated to creating a positive impact not only in the lives of our residents and their families but also among our colleagues at the home.
In her leisure time, Lynette enjoys walking, gardening, baking, and knitting.

Tanya Kutna
Team Leader
Tanya joined the Boroughbridge family in the summer of 2024 and is proud to be Team Leader in the home.
She speaks with passion about how happy it makes her to be given the opportunity to help other, relishing the opportunity to make the residents happy and how the home is like a family to her whilst adding about the great opportunities given at Boroughbridge Manor.
Away from the home Tanya enjoys roller skating, she has has a passion for creativity in arts, crafts, hair and nails and she loves to try new things.

Sue Capel
Administrator
Sue joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in the autumn of 2024 and is proud to be our homes administrator.
She takes great pride in her role and assisting our relatives and residents and supporting the home community.

Karen Garbutt
Head Chef
Hi, my name is Karen and I am the Head Chef here at Boroughbridge Manor. I started here at the home in July 2024 and transferred from our sister home, Leeming Bar Grange where I was the homes second chef.
I am passionate about the delivery of quality food and here at Boroughbridge Manor, we provide a wonderful choice of delicious and wholesome dishes. The food and the dining experience at Boroughbridge Manor is recognised as an integral part of the lifestyle here at the home and I am responsible for managing the catering team, ensuring they provide a quality catering service to all our residents, guests and visitors.

Adi Petre
Head of Housekeeping
Adi joined the Barchester Family in 2016 as a Care Assistant and was promoted to Head Housekeeper in June 2020.
Leading a team of housekeeping staff, Adi ensures that every room and living space is maintained to the highest standards.
Adi loves interacting with the residents and helping create a warm atmosphere in the home

Vasanth Kumar
Care Assistant
Vasanth joined the care team at Boroughbridge Manor in the spring of 2024 and is hugely popular amongst our residents and colleagues alike.
He speaks warmly about how much he enjoys making the residents smile and getting to know them and their loved ones.

Jismi Varghese
Care Assistant
Jismi has been part of the Boroughbridge family since 2023 and makes up part of our wonderful care team.
She speaks about how much she loves caring for our residents and getting to know them.
Away from the home, Jismi enjoys spending time with her family making precious memories.

Deepu Thomas
Care Assistant
Deepu has been a much valued member of the home since 2022 and makes up part of our team of care assistants.
He speaks warmly about how much he see's the home as another family and how much he enjoys getting to know our residents.
Away from the home Deepu is a huge sports fan and enjoys cricket, football and F1. His biggest passion lies in the kitchen as he loves cooking.

Leann Butler
Activities Coordinator
Leann joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in spring 2025 and makes up part of our homes wonderful activities team, delivering life enrichment, experiences and precious moments to our residents.
She speaks with great enthusiasm about how much she enjoys getting to know the residents, delivering great activities and seeing the positive difference this makes in their lives.
Away from the home Leann enjoys going on holidays with her family, going for long walks along the coast and attending music concerts as a big fan of country and western music.

Nigel Smurthwaite
Kitchen Assistant
Nigel has been a part of the family at Boroughbridge since December 2018, having initially beginning his career as part of our housekeeping team he is now one of our brilliant kitchen assistants.
He talks about how grateful he is to Barchester, that after so many places weren't willing to give him an opportunity, Barchester did. Nigel speaks about how Boroughbridge is a place where people can grow and develop themselves and he enjoys speaking with the residents and their loved ones.
Away from the home Nigel is a huge football fan.

Tim Stapylton
Tim joined the Boroughbridge family in Spring 2025 and is proud to be our homes maintenance assistant.
He takes great pride in the homes garden areas wishing to make them as comfortable and relaxing as possible for our residents and relatives to enjoy,
Away from the home Tim is a passionate fisher and enjoys going carp fishing.

Kiera
Therapy Dog
Kiera is our home's regular visiting therapy dog and is part of Therapy Pets Nationwide.
She is a beautiful and extremely affectionate 11-year-old black Labrador whom our residents simply adore.
Kiera loves a good fuss and is always excited to see our residents again.

Mark Shelton
Customer Relationship Manager
Mark has been a part of the Barchester family since 2014.
Having come into the company as a Care Assistant, later a Senior Carer, he then moved onto Activities, becoming Senior Activities for the North Yorkshire area and now as a Customer Relationship Manager.
Marks passion has always been found in wanting to better the lives our residents and to help them find and enjoy new experiences. taking great pride in supporting our homes and being there for our residents and families.
Within his role Mark supports our home with Community Engagement, building relationships with groups and charities in the area and supporting our wonderful activities teams with their home events.

Alexandra Rug
Team LeaderSpeak Up Champion
Alex joined the Boroughbridge Family in February 2016 as a Care Assistant and has worked her way up to a Senior Carer and now Team Leader
Alex enjoys every aspect of her role and her hard work doesn't go unnoticed. She enjoys being involved in daily life, activities and celebrations we have at the home and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the safety, dignity and well-being of all our residents.
Alex is a great asset and valuable member of the Boroughbridge Manor team and she is also proud to be the homes 'Speak up Champion'

Jodie Muir
Activities Lead
Jodie joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in March 2025, starting as a care assistant before following her calling into activities and is proud to be the homes Activities Lead.
Jodie is passionate about creating new experiences and moments of memories through the homes life enrichment activities.
She has enjoyed a career in care since 2015 and speaks with warmth about how much she enjoys helping and caring for others, how much satisfaction she gets from getting getting to know our residents and their loved ones and how they are an extended family.
Away from home Jodie is a proud mother and grandparent and loves to spend time with her family. she also enjoys socialising and loves to watch programmes in the crime documentary genre.

Thomas Howson
Head of Maintenance
Tom has been an integral member of the Boroughbridge Manor family since 2020 and takes great pride in his role as Head of Maintenance.
He is dedicated to serving the residents, ensuring the home maintains the highest standards. He expresses his passion for helping others with great enthusiasm.
Outside of work, Tom is a devoted family man who cherishes spending time with his wife and daughter.

Gillian Cavanagh
Receptionist
Gillian joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a much cherished member of the team.
She loves to be the first point of contact for our visitors and greeting them with a warm welcome.
Gillian speaks warmly about how much she enjoys interacting with and meeting people.
Away from the home Gillian enjoys going for walks on the beach with her 2 springer spaniels. Domino and Zebedee, playing the piano and she loves all things paranormal.

Yvonne English
Care Assitant
Yvonne joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in 2017 and has worked in care since 1995 in various roles across her career.
She speaks warmly about how much she enjoys spending time with the residents, conversing with them and making a positive difference in their lives.
Away from the home, Yvonne enjoys spending time with her 2 children, going to football on a weekend, she also has horses and enjoys going on walks.

Mary Osikoya
Care Assistant
Mary joined the Boroughbridge Manor family in late 2024 and quickly became a much thought member of the team, joining the homes wonderful care assistants.
She enjoys speaking with and getting to know our residnts and spending time with them.
Away from the home, Mary loves to travel and one of her favourite destinations is Dubai. She is looking forward to visiting and seeing London.

Lindsey Butler
Hostess
Lindsey has been an integral member of the Boroughbridge family since 2017, taking pride in her role as our home's hostess.
She expresses her enjoyment of engaging and conversing with our residents and their loved ones, not only in the dining area but throughout the home.
Beyond her duties, Lindsey's hobbies and interests encompass photography, drawing and painting, crochet, and tai-chi.

Robert Rug
Second Chef
I joined the Boroughbridge Manor team in 2016 and I work hard to ensure the residents individual dietary needs are catered for daily. I enjoy spending time getting to know the residents and their favourite dishes! I always look forward to themed events and assisting the activities team in providing themed dishes!

Anthony Haseldine
Kitchen Assistant
Anthony has been a part of the team at Boroughbridge Manor since 2020 and makes up part of our wonderful kitchen team.
He enjoys life at the home and says how it is brilliant to be part of such a great team.
Away from the home Anthony enjoys horse racing, having a flutter and walking.

Housekeeper
Yevgeniia has been a part of the Boroughbridge family since 2022 and makes up part of our excellent team of housekeepers.
