Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home
Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.
We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Bluebell Park Care Home
Christmas Party
We spent the afternoon having a Christmas Party it was a fantastic afternoon. Light festive refreshments with some festive drinks along with some Christmas games, quiz, carols, and dancing. It was a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by many residents and families to. There was lots of lovely bright smiles throughout the afternoon everybody who participated really enjoyed themselves. Overall it a lovely afternoon we plan to do something like this again in the new year.
Chellaston Academy Performance
We had the pleasure of welcoming our local senior School, Chellaston Academy into the home. They come well and truly prepared for their fantastic performance. Many of residents come down from different floors to watch the children perform. They sang a selection of Christmas Carols the residents and staff got involved. Overall it was a lovely morning enjoyed by many, some of the residents said they would love to welcome Chellaston Academy into the home again for another performance. We hope to do this again in the future.
101st Birthday Celebrations
We celebrated a very special ladies 101st Birthday. We sectioned off part of an area and decorated it with balloons, banners, flowers and gifts ready for her family to arrive. They had their own very special Tea Party were they brought more gifts and treats for her. Overall it was a lovely day Jane really enjoyed herself she was very overwhelmed and pleased with the effort we had made. Her family was thoroughly pleased with the outcome of the day. Overall it was a lovely fun filled day enjoyed by many and One to remember.
World Card Making Day
We celebrated World Card Making Day. Some of the residents spent the day getting creative they made some really nice cards. They even made a card for a resident who was celebrating his Birthday that weekend. Overall it was a day enjoyed by all who participated.
World Animal Day
We celebrated World Animal Day and my word was it a hit! We had an Animal therapy session brought to us in the home by CJ’S Pets. There was a variety of different animals too look at some held them. Overall it was a fantastic morning enjoyed by residents, families and friends.
World Card Making Day
We celebrated World Card Making Day. Some of the residents spent the day getting creative they made some really nice cards. They even made a card for a resident who was celebrating his Birthday that weekend. Overall it was a day enjoyed by all who participated.
