Activities at Ashcombe House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I’m a fun, loud and outgoing individual who loves organising fun activities for residents at Ashcombe House (and staff, if possible). I’m very creative and keep the residents very active, both mentally and physically In my spare time, I love doing a lot of fundraising, which usually ends up with me sliding in mud.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Ashcombe House Care Home
Gfitness Session
Richard visited us from Gfitness and hosted a fantastic exercise class. He had us using elastic straps for strength and footballs to get a range of movements. We all enjoyed this and look forward to our next exercise class.
Baking Club
Our weekly baking club is very popular and everyone enjoys getting involved. Some like to weigh the ingredients, some are good at mixing and others like to supervise. Each week, the group meets and decides what will be cooked the following week. Here we are cooking up some fabulous cheese straws, which were enjoyed by all.
Easter Cake Competition
Residents spent time making an Easter cake for Barchester's Easter Cake Competition – and the results were fantastic!
Birthday Bash
Resident, Jo, recently celebrated his birthday here at Ashcombe with his family, fellow residents and staff members.
Afternoon Tea
Residents at Ashcombe indulged in some afternoon tea whilst enjoying some Buck's Fizz.
Birthday Celebrations
Rex celebrated his birthday at Ashcombe House with staff, residents and loved ones. Everyone really enjoyed the chocolate cake.
