Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Cheltenham Animal Shelter Visits

Residents and staff enjoyed meeting little 12-week-old kitten Claude from Cheltenham Animal Shelter.

It was a great time for residents to reminisce about their own pets, and a meaningful activity for who are cat lovers! There were many cuddles shared. Claude was a very black little kitten, very soft and gentle that just wants to play.

We all look forward to more visits.

Celebrating World Photography Day

Some residents and staff spent time outdoors and indoors taking photographs using single use cameras as the old fashioned way! We’ve used a camera that was taking black and white photos, another in colour and we even had the flash option. We’ve managed to capture some especial moments of them taking their photos. We’re not sure if the single use cameras work well with taking selfies, but we shall soon find out.

The final result will be a surprise for everyone.

Celebrating Dorothy’s 100th birthday

Dorothy has been living at Ashchurch view for 9 years; she is one of the homes very first resident.

Dorothy celebrated with her family, friends, staff and other residents in the home. We hosted a big party event for the occasion, welcomed Emma from Miniconcerts who snag the best songs. There was lots of dancing and singing.

When Dorothy was asked by another resident, what does it feel like to be 100 years old?  With her best sense of humour Dorothy replied, “the same as if I was still 99”

Dog Show for National Dog Day

There were a variety of categories. Three residents got brave and accepted to be the judges to make the difficult decisions of voting. We presented each dog with some treats and a certificate of participation. It was a lovely afternoon for everyone.
