Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Summer Fete

This weekend was our summer fete weekend and what a weekend we had.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and made our day even more special, big thank you to all the families and friends of our amazing residents and staff and of course everyone who brought items along including setting up of the fabulous stalls.

As well as having amazing stalls offering wax melts, cakes, home made fudge, beauty products including hand creams and soaps, raffle prizes, bespoke jewellery and various other amazing items we were able to raise £115 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance

We had a the best time and we can't wait to do this again next year.

Thanks again to everyone involved and to all our visitors.

Flower Arranging

The ladies from The Wingfield love to have flower arranging sessions, they are a great chance to get their creativeness flowing with such a beautiful outcome. The arrangement's they make are proudly displayed in the dining room and reception. This activity is brilliant for creative stimulation, dexterity, relaxation and the senses.

Valentines Day

We celebrated Valentine’s day. In the morning, the team played some popular songs from the past and enjoyed singing and dancing along. These songs helped to bring back memories from the past and raised many smiles! Followed by cheese and wine afternoon. It was a wonderful day spent sharing love and positivity around the home.

Chinese New Year

The Wingfield celebrated the Chinese new year. 2022 is the year of the tiger and according to Chinese tradition celebrations can last up to 16 days; but only the first seven days are considered a public holiday. The residents were presented with a delightful menu of Chinese foods for them to enjoy. It was great to see them happy and excited for the celebrations.

Music Therapy with Julie

An afternoon full of interaction and sing-a-long with Julie. After the session we were able to see a great improvement in our residents' cognitive functions, mood and well-being. Everyone enjoyed using different musical instruments as well.

Art Class with Creative Mojo

It was our pleasure to welcome back Karen from Creative Mojo. Karen provided fun, rewarding  and enjoyable art workshops for everyone. Everyone shown their artistic side and Karen gave them opportunity to explore their creative ideas.
