Activities at Winchester House Care Home

Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Life at Winchester House Care Home

A Work of Art

A Work of Art

We would like to say a big thank you to the Pew Runner group at All Saints Church for the marvellous pew cushions that was commissioned by Winchester House to celebrate the links between the home and the local community. It now has pride of place at the church.

Lafarge Singers

Lafarge Singers

Paul Starks comes to the home every fortnight, inviting residents to come along to Lafarge Singers, where they can get creative with music, but most of all, they can have fun.

Burns Night

Burns Night

We celebrated all things Scottish on Burns Night when we addressed the haggis with poetry by the great Robert Burns. We also enjoyed the sound of the bagpipes, finishing off with afternoon tea and a singalong!

Trips Out

Trips Out

Not to be put off by the cold weather, residents have been out and about through January to Dobbies Garden Centre for afternoon tea and also to see our friends at All Saints Church.

Inter-generational Playgroup

Inter-generational Playgroup

Our intergenerational playgroup is a huge success and is going from strength to strength; the residents love spending time with the children and are looking forward to our next playgroup!

Christmas at Winchester

Christmas at Winchester

Christmas was a magical time here at Winchester House, with the Aladdin pantomime by Tickled Pink Productions, visits from Wouldham All Saints School and church choirs. We had a very special Christmas Day, exchanging gifts and tucking into a delicious turkey dinner from our super catering team. A wonderful time was had by all!
