Activities at Wimborne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Freeman

Lead Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful  and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Life at Wimborne Care Home

Competition Winner

Here at WImborne Care home on Hayling Island we have just rewarded our winner of our "Care My Care Home" competition! The residents here chosen Harleys design and she has just visited to collect her prize! Harley was so excited and said she loves to colour! We cant wait to hold our next competition for the intergenerational community we have built here at Wimborne. Congratulations Harley!

Colour Our Care Home

Here at Wimborne Care Home on Hayling Island we have been continuing our intergenerational links with the community. A few weeks ago we delivered ”colour my care home” cards to our local infant school. Our residents have sat and reviewed all the entries and decided on Harleys entry!

Homemade Smoothies

Here at Wimborne Care Home our residents have been continuing to enjoy National Nutrition and Hydration Week. Our Head Chef, Hayden has been busy preparing freshly made fruit smoothies for our residents to enjoy after a hearty lunch.

Nutrition and Hydration Week

We are so lucky to have such talented chefs here at Wimborne. This week we are celebrating Nutrition and Hydration week and we are already off to an amazing start with a wonderful fruit platter which the residents loved and some freshly made scones with clotted cream and jam for a cream tea!

Cupcake Donation

Here at Wimborne we have been heading out to our local chit and chatter group in the community centre donating some tasty home made cakes to celebrate International Women’s Day! The local community centre were so grateful for the visit and we look forward to visiting them again soon.

Ukes of Wallington

What an absolute highlight of our year so far! We were so lucky to be joined by the fabulous The Ukes of Wallington. We spent the afternoon joined by our family and friends as the group played songs throughout the decades, there was so much laughter and joy throughout the home and we already can’t wait for them to come back!
