Activities at Wimborne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Freeman

Lead Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful  and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Life at Wimborne Care Home

Wine Tasting

Residents got to taste some different wines from different countries and rated them to see what one was the best one. They also had cheese, crackers, grapes and strawberries to go with the wine tasting.

Donkey Sanctuary Visit

Some residents went on a trip in the minibus to visit the Hayling Island Donkey Sanctuary. They really enjoyed it and we are planning to go again next month.

Autumn Handprint

Residents made handprint trees out of different coloured paper. We then put them all together and displayed them on our display board.

Cruise Party

Residents at Wimborne took to the seas and travelled to Italy for the afternoon on the S.S. Wimborne Ship. They showed their boarding passes to Captain Perkins to enjoy a personal photo with the captain. They were then entertained with singing and dancing, then finished off with some Italian nibbles.

Getting Creative

Residents joined the activities team in making tie-dye handkerchiefs. We took plain white handkerchiefs, sprayed them with different coloured dyes all over the handkerchiefs to make a colourful, funky hankie to then keep as their own.

Wimborne Dog Show

Residents, staff and members of the public took part in Wimborne’s Dog Show. This event was held on International Dog Day to celebrate this wonderful day and to help raise money for Dementia UK. Over 20 dogs attended and many more members of the public, staff and residents. In total the home raised over £130 for Dementia UK.
