Activities at Wimborne Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Freeman

Lead Activities Coordinator

I have been working in care since 2019 and love the industry. I came from working on cruise ships and running events and activities there which has set me up to be a successful activities coordinator in care. You will never see me without a smile on my face and always bring my fun and bubbly personality to my job. My favourite part of my job is making people cheerful  and help make their wishes come true to show people that age is just a number and we can have fun no matter what!

Pizza Night

We had the tasty surprise of a pizza night kindly supplied by Hayling Pizza! Our residents had a great evening tucking in to all the pizza and watching a movie together! What a treat!

Rock & Roll Therapy from Matt O’Neil

We had the fantastic Matt O’Neil come in to entertain our residents this month! His ‘Rock & Roll therapy’ got us all singing our hearts out to our residents favourite songs from their life and dancing around the room! A really brilliant afternoon spent with music that brought all of our residents together.

Cuddles with Rufus!

Our wonderful PAT dog Rufus started off our new year in the best way with some much needed fluffy cuddles. The time after Christmas can be quite sad and dull but Rufus helped to pick all of our residents spirits up and bring so much joy to our home. We all feel very lucky to have him!

Christmas at Wimborne

We had such a wonderful Christmas here at Wimborne. Our residents, staff and families celebrated the day with a visit from Santa, music and of course a delicious Christmas lunch.

Northney Tea Room Trip

Our residents had a great trip out to Northney Tea Room! They really enjoyed the opportunity to go out and see the horses and cows and had a great time in the winter sunshine, not to mention the fancy hot chocolate and a HUGE piece of Victoria sponge!

Resident's Christmas Party

We had an amazing time celebrating Christmas with our resident's families at our party! Our residents enjoyed some great food from our kitchen team, a big Christmas quiz that put everyone’s festive knowledge to the test and some much needed good company after these last few years! A very merry afternoon had by all!
