Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Flowers Fit For a Queen

Residents here at Trinity Manor recently spent a wonderfully productive and social afternoon as they created some beautiful floral tributes to Her Majesty the Queen...

The top floor dining room really was a hive of activity, and in between the cups of tea and slices of cake to keep them all going, they created some lovely table pieces to decorate the dining room over the jubilee weekend last week.

Residents were joined by some of the home's volunteers, who also assisted with suggestions and encouragement when needed.

Thank you to all involved, you really did the home proud and the tables looked wonderful as a result.

AMAZING Carers!

Carers week here at Trinity Manor gives us the opportunity to highlight the incredible work that our carers do day to day here in the home.

It takes a very special person to be a carer, but it takes an EXTRA special person to be a carer at Trinity Manor - after all, we didn't get outstanding in care on our CQC inspection with just any old carers!

So this week, Deputy Manager, Paul, was on hand to distribute some yummy treats and thank you cards to celebrate carers week.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to our phenomenal care team - YOU ARE AMAZING!

JUBILATIONS GALORE!!!

Jubilations indeed were had by all the residents of our home at the special party we held in honour of Her Majesty's 70 years on the throne!

Joined by many family and friends of the home, as well as entertainer, Jan McNeill, donning her very best union jack flag dress, residents were treated to a fantastic buffet lunch courtesy of our lovely chefs, as well as the most epic cake, which was homemade for the residents by Admin Manager, Becky King.

With a bouncy castle for the children, Pimms & lemonade for the adults and the sun shining high in the sky, it was the perfect mix for a jubilation celebration!

'Long live the Queen!'

Our Green Fingered Friend!

Following on from a recent afternoon tea with our residents here at Trinity Manor, we are so very grateful for the hard work and dedication of one local person, who has helped ready our outdoor areas for our Jubilee celebrations...

HUGE THANKS go to a wonderful friend of the home, Anne Hall, who recently gave up some of her time to help our residents make the gardens look extra lovely!

Anne spent time helping residents sort out some of our outdoor areas up on Memory Lane, adding some colour for everyone to enjoy, before planting some floral bits and pieces in the main garden.

Residents really enjoyed spending the morning in Anne's company.

THANK YOU, Anne! it all looks wonderful!

A Mayoral Tea...

Did somebody say tea?

Residents here at Trinity Manor were delighted to welcome Sherborne's outgoing Mayor, Anne Hall for a spot of afternoon tea and a chat recently..

With the cafe area jam packed, the Mayor's arrival here at Trinity Manor proved to be a popular draw for many of the home's residents.

Anne has been a regular local figure here in our home, and one of our biggest cheerleaders in the community; for which we are very grateful!

It was so nice to welcome Anne for one final time before she finally hands the baton to the town's new incoming Mayor.

Thank you for coming in for an afternoon natter, the residents have really appreciated you taking the time to see them!

A Card for the Queen!

We recently collaborated with Sherborne Primary School, asking for their help to create a card for Her Majesty's recent platinum jubilee.  They didn't disappoint!

The children were quick to come up with some incredible designs, of which our residents then voted for their favourite.

The honour of having their card chosen to create a larger version, which was then signed by all at the school and then here at Trinity Manor, went to to the very creative, Florence Robinson of Jaguars class.

The following week, the larger card was handed over to the home and Florence was given a fantastic art tub as her prize.  All the entrants received a special certificate to say thank you for all their efforts.

After the card was signed by everyone, it was then posted off by Home Services Advisor, Rebekah, Royal Mail special delivery (of course!) to Buckingham Palace, where we can now confirm it's arrival, as being signed for, simply by 'Steve'!

Huge thanks to everyone involved in this wonderful project, which has brightened up the foyer of Trinity Manor with all their wonderful entries throughout the jubilee celebrations, however special thanks very much go to Florence for a wonderful job - you have done us proud!
