Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

An Operatic Triumph!

What a wonderful afternoon recently as we welcomed some very special guests here at Trinity Manor...

Vivien and friend, Javier, performed in our garden where all our residents, friends & guests thoroughly enjoyed performances from some of their favourite operas, as well as songs from yesteryear!

Vivien & Javier were in town to perform at the Opera in Oborne festival, having performed the evening before, in Georges Bizet's Carmen.

Such a wonderful inclusive, performance for all, which our residents have not stopped talking about since!

Thank you for sharing your amazing voices, Vivien & Javier - You are both incredibly gifted performers and we cannot thank you enough for the perfect gift of music that you brought to our home.

Someone's a Bit Pleased with Himself...

We have mentioned on previous occasions how our Head of Maintenance, Phill, has reached the finals of the Barchester Healthcare awards as the regional winner of the 'Health & Safety Champion' category.

Well, guess who now has his very own banner?!

Here he is folks, enjoying every moment...

The banner will stand proudly in our foyer for the foreseeable future - who knows, may be it will be replaced with the overall champion's banner?

Best of Luck, Phill!!!!

103rd Birthday Celebrations!!!!

We were absolutely delighted to enable one very special resident here at Trinity Manor, to celebrate a VERY wonderful numbered birthday recently…

The gorgeous Doris today turned a very spritely, 103 years young!!!!

Helping her to celebrate, were her wonderful family, who we helped to plot and scheme some top secret birthday plans with, in order to make her birthday extra special.

Taking over our beautiful summer lounge, the Trinity Manor team got to work decorating with a stunning balloon arch – well done, Becky, Rebekah & Elizabeth for blowing them all up, whilst Vicky from the housekeeping team gave everywhere an extra special birthday spruce up and all in time for her mini surprise afternoon tea. A Brilliant team effort!

Spending the afternoon with close family, they enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea which came all the way from Bettys Harrogate which was ordered especially for Doris as a gift from the family, as they know how much she has enjoyed their cakes and treats in the past!

What is particularly nice is that there was FOUR generations all together – Granddaughter Charlotte who resides in Australia (sadly, could not be here), but did manage a trip to see Doris last month, which we captured on camera at our recent Trinity Café.

Happy, happy birthday Doris - We hope you enjoyed your special day and were thoroughly spoiled!

NB. We just spotted that Betty's Tea room was first opened in the year of Doris' birth - 103 years ago!!!!

Yummy Crumble...

A few days ago we told you about how one of our residents helped us to pick some delicious, ripe plums…

Upon leaving the picked fruit in the capable hands of our Chef, Louise, she really came up trumps!

Take a look at the homemade plum crumble that she made for pudding recently, which everyone enjoyed!!!

Thank you Louise! Everyone really appreciated this delicious home grown, home baked treat.

Let’s all hope that more plums are forthcoming!

Refreshing Iced Tea

REFRESHING ICED TEA

Up on Memory Lane recently, some of our residents got involved with helping to make everyone in the home some delicious, cooling iced tea…

Working together to collect and pick the leaves off the mint, and then helping to put ice cubes into the jugs and mix in the cool iced tea, everyone was surprised how lovely it tasted – Many never actually having iced tea before.

The tea was then distributed to all who wanted to try it in the home, including staff! (Which they were most grateful for…)

Not a bad way to stay refreshed and hydrated in this lovely warm weather.

Thank you to all involved, you have done a fantastic job and it has been MUCH appreciated by us all!
