Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Virtual talk from journalist and novelist, Mike Gayle

We had a great time joining journalist and novelist, Mike Gayle, for an intriguing virtual interview, during which he shared top tips for creative writing with our residents and read passages from his latest book, All the Lonely People.

We were thrilled to find out about Mike’s background, to understand what led him to become a writer and his creative process.

It was a lovely talk, enjoyed by all, especially by our keen writers at the home.

Residents enjoy a Virtual Cruise Experience

We had a lovely time joining Paul Hawkins and Lisa Richards from Unilever for an exciting Virtual Cruise experience.

Our residents were welcomed with mocktails as Lisa and Paul took them on a magical journey to 3 mystery destinations, which were uncovered after a few clues.

Paul demonstrated how to create a few of the local traditional dishes, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.

The event evoked lots of great memories and it was truly enjoyed by all.

Ryedale Animal Farm visit

Residents enjoyed a visit from Rachel from, Ryedale Animal Farm, Rachel brought along her runner ducklings who were a hit with the residents who were able to feed them and interact with them, we are already looking forward to their next visit to see how much they have grown.

Mindful colouring

Colouring has been shown to have many benefits to peoples motor skills and coordination. Colouring is an activity that we try and ensure is available to our resident’s throughout the day. Residents enjoy their regular arts and craft sessions.

Gardening club

As Autumn nears our residents have been busy planting winter flowers to keep our gardens looking colourful. We have a number of green fingered residents who often join in with our gardening club.
