Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Zoe Grindley

Activities Coordinator

Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.

I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.

Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.

My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs

I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Social Singing

What a wonderful way to brighten up a cold and rainy morning! A trip to St Stephens church in Enfield for some social singing, meeting new people and a bit of dancing too! Thank you to Age UK for organising such a lovely event. It was also wonderful to meet the former mayor of Enfield town who, with her donation made the event possible.

A Royal Reply

A few weeks ago our residents had decided to write a letter to the Queen to congratulate her on her 70 years on the throne.
How pleased we all were when a beautiful reply came back from Buckingham Palace thanking us all for our letter! It was wonderful taking the beautiful card around to show everyone and so many of them recounted stories of being on the Mall for the Queens coronation all those years ago! Wishing everyone a lovely Platinum Jubilee Celebration!

International Nurses Day

We had a lovely afternoon celebrating international Nurses day and residents had a lovely time eating cake and chocolates. The nurses were also presented with some beautiful flowers and art work designed especially buy our residents. One picture is based on the saying that ‘Nurses are angels in comfortable shoes’! Thank you to all the carers and nurses everywhere. What a difference you make to each and everyone of us.

World Cocktail day was a great success on Friday!

World Cocktail day was a great success on Friday!

Lovely Pimms with fresh fruits and a refreshing gin and elderflower cocktail, gave us a great start to the weekend.

Residents helped our chef Dan with all the cutting of the fruit and mixing all the measures.

They were then enjoyed by everyone!

Cheers!
