Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community

International Nurses Day.

Southgate Beaumont celebrated International Nurses Day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers every where, who go above and beyond the call of duty daily to deliver extraordinary care and support.

John, Resident Ambassador at Southgate Beaumont Care Home, presented lovely gifts and gave a speech to show our appreciation for all the hard work and dedication of all our nurses and carers.

John said "Our nurses are so amazing, we wanted to show them how much we reply on them and value them. Every day should be nurses day!"

A walk down memory lane.

Today at Southgate Beaumont we made a beautiful memory tree.

Residents sat around talking about happy memories from their past and lots of our ladies said the happiest moments had been when their children were born.

It was lovely sharing each others precious stories and getting to know each other better.

We wrote these moments down to hang on our blossom branches, so they will always be remembered. We will continue to add to our tree over the coming weeks.

Coronation Celebrations.

What a fabulous day we had here on Saturday.

Our amazing chef Dan excelled himself and prepared a feast fit for a King!

With a beautiful Coronation quiche, coronation chicken and a beautiful Mary Berry cake, family’s, friends and residents all commented on how much they had enjoyed themselves.

This was the second Coronation seen by some of our residents and we enjoyed sharing their stories from the night they camped out in the mall all those years ago.

The Kings Coronation.

It’s not long now till the Kings Coronation and residents are helping with all the decorations to make our home look ready for this grand occasion.

Today we made a huge crown and one of our very talented residents drew this amazing picture of our future king.

We will be enjoying a fancy Afternoon Tea on Saturday after the ceremony and we are looking forward to feasting on a delicious selection of sandwiches and wonderful cakes.

All families are welcome to join in our celebrations and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Happy 103rd Birthday Marjorie!

Our much loved resident Marjorie celebrated her 103rd birthday this month and staff and residents gave Marjorie such a wonderful party to help her celebrate.

Marjorie is such a wonderful lady, always full of stories and memories to share with her friends.

She is also constantly grateful for everything (Her key to living a long and happy life!) Many happy returns Marjorie. We all think you are amazing!

Rosalind and Regina's exhibition

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend Residents had a real treat having a beautiful Art Exhibition from the comfort of their own home!

Our very own Regina who works as a carer here and one of our assisted living residents Rosalind came together to display their beautiful paintings and sculpture for all to see.

Residents were delighted to see such beautiful work and really enjoyed discussing the meaning behind the paintings and sculpture with our incredibly talented artists.

With a glass of wine it was a wonderful afternoon and some residents even bought a painting or two!
