Activities at Sherwood Lodge Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our Activities Coordinator is constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. We have regular outings in the mini bus to nearby places of interest including local garden centres and parks as well as musicians and entertainers. We also hold bingo evenings which are helped out by our residents families. We also have a local pub nearby which the residents enjoy visiting from time to time for a spot of lunch or sitting in the gardens in the summer time. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests as best is possible. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Sherwood Lodge Music

It's a well-known fact that music brings people together, and we have certainly proved that at Sherwood Lodge this week.

We have welcomed a new entertainer into our home, Johnny North, and what a wonderful time we all had.

Residents, staff and visitors were all up on their feet to the melodies of Sir Cliff, Elvis and many many more.

Thank you Johnny for helping us all relive our youth.

Easter Cake Competition

Residents at Sherwood Lodge have seen the poster and heard about the cake competition. They have all expressed an interest to take part, we have held a meeting to discuss ideas and how to make the cake.

Residents said they would like to make a big egg, with a smaller egg inside, with chicks in and grass around it.

We have been out to the shops to get all the ingredients, Margaret said she would like it to be very colourful, and Pauline said she can’t wait to make the chicks.

Day 1 of the build:
Make 3 sponges wait to cool and stack together with butter cream than cut to shape, make the jelly.

Day 2:
Decorate the egg with butter cream and make chicks had the jelly.

Hard work has played off with a lot of fun, residents said they are so pleased with the outcome and can’t wait for the results.
