Hi, my name is Charlene, and I am the General Manager here at Sherwood Lodge. Welcome to our website!
I started off working in care at the age of 16 and, over the years, I have built up a great deal of knowledge and experience. I am a hands-on manager and dedicated to continuously leading and developing our staff team. I have a passion for delivering a high standard of care within a home from home environment. I am hard working and committed to each resident and their loved ones.
I have worked in the care sector for many years, and started my career as a cleaner. Over the years, I have completed numerous training courses and have had varied roles, constantly striving for an excellent standard of care for the residents I support. I am passionate about ensuring that the residents here at Sherwood Lodge receive the highest standard of care whilst providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in their home away from home. I am also one of the home's LGBT champions, and offer sign post advice for those seeking it.
I have worked at Sherwood Lodge since 2018. I am the Head of Care here at Sherwood Lodge and I love supporting the communities and the staff to drive quality care and boost team morale. I have a number of years' experience of working in care in various roles and have loved every minute.
Sherwood Lodge is a wonderful place to work and the residents are our main priority and work closely with the General Manager and Deputy Home Manager to make changes that will benefit our residents and my colleagues.
I have worked in care since 2000. I started working nights as a Carer, then I had a ten year break to raise my family. I then went back to work in a home that provided EMI care, before moving on to complete my NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care to become a Senior Carer.
I am now the Head of Care at Sherwood Lodge, and I have enjoyed working my way up whilst learning about all aspects of the care sector. I will soon be undertaking my NVQ Level 3.
I started working for Barchester in 2007 working as an admin assistant here at Sherwood Court, before getting my current role as the administrator of Sherwood Lodge in 2013. I really enjoy my role, as it is so varied and rewarding.
My life has had a strong art bias; I worked for many years as a technical illustrator and freelance natural history illustrator before moving into animation and eventually marketing. My hobbies and interests are also art based; I love to see exhibitions in my home town at the Liverpool Tate, and I still enjoy drawing and painting, although my artwork is produced on a computer these days.
I really enjoy sharing my love of art with our residents, whether it is through creating funny cartoons of each other, decorating plant pots or building aircraft from matchsticks – sharing creative activities is a pleasure and very rewarding.
I have worked at Sherwood Lodge since 2008 as the admin assistant. I have always worked in administration and office roles since leaving school.
I enjoy my work here at Sherwood Lodge, as everyday offers something different, and I have gained a very close bond with the residents, and enjoy our daily chats.
I have over 35 years of catering experience in the NHS, where I started out as an apprentice chef. I have worked as a baker, a diet chef and in general catering, and this has given me an excellent knowledge and experience in all aspects of catering. I am proud to show off these skilled I have acquired at Sherwood Lodge.
I am also the Health & Safety Champion for the home, attending regional meetings, assisting with risk assessments and carrying out regular inspections whilst promoting a positive safe culture.
My name is Joanne Belmont I am married with two children. I served 13 years in the army as a chef from 1989 to 2002, where I cooked in various locations across the world, as well as at private dinner parties for senior officers in their own homes.
From 2004 to 2018 I worked at Carnforth High School as the school cook, before leaving there in July 2018 to join the team here at Sherwood Lodge.
I am the Head of Maintenance here at Sherwood Lodge and also at Sherwood Court. One of the best things about working in a care environment is that you are helping residents and families and trying to make their lives a little bit easier. Knowing that you make a difference to people's day provides a real sense of achievement.
I have been working at Sherwood Lodge since 2010, starting off as a care assistant, and I am now the head housekeeper. Previous to my work here, I worked in the community as a support worker and, before that, that I worked in the hotel sector. I enjoy my role here at Sherwood Lodge, and I have a strong and reliable team working beside me. Sherwood Lodge is a happy and relaxed place to be and work.
My name is Dianne Morton and I am currently a night Senior Carer at Sherwood Lodge. I have been here since 2015 and I have worked in the care sector since 1990.
I have my NVQ level 2 & 3, in addition to my medication and mental health certificates. I love working in the elderly care sector, as I feel I have a lot to give back to older people.
I have worked in the care industry for over 15 years and during this time I have achieved my level 2 and level 3 certificates in Health & Social Care. I have worked at Sherwood Lodge since 2018.
I have worked at Sherwood Lodge since I was 13, and I started off working in the kitchen and then I moved on to the Laundry whilst also helping out with the housekeeping at the weekend, before becoming a care assistant. I have since completed my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care, and I am now a specialist care assistant. I thoroughly enjoy working with my residents and providing them with the highest standard of care possible.
I have worked in the care sector for many years and I always work hard to ensure that the people I support receive the highest standard of care possible.
