Activities at Shawford Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Joanne Gadd
Hello, I am Joanne. I have worked as an activities coordinator for over seven years. In that time I have built a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience in designing and implementing activities that will support the mind, body and soul. I have a passion for delivering person centred sessions and will strive to ensure our weekly programme is engaging for all. I love organising events and am continually looking for ways to connect with our local community.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Shawford Springs Care Home

Happy Birthday Your Majesty
Today we raised a glass to HRH King Charles 3rd on his 75th Birthday.
We spent the afternoon playing a selection of brain games themed around the Royal Family and our brilliant kitchen team made a batch of delicious jam & cream scones for us to enjoy.

Knit and Natter - Special Project - Remembrance Wreath
Our Knit & Natter Group have finished their beautiful poppy wreath ready for Remembrance Day this weekend. What a fantastic effort by all involved

Hillier Gardens visit
This week we took a trip to the lovely café at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Gardens for a warming coffee with a view. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon so we’ll certainly be back again for another visit.

Pamper Morning
Yesterday we enjoyed a pamper morning in our purpose built salon. Our wonderful hairdresser Edana not only worked her magic on our resident’s hair, but also helped our Activities Coordinator Jo give manicures & pedicures which left everyone feeling pampered from head to toe

Royal Logistics Corps - Winchester - Out and about
Last week some of our gents took a trip to the The Royal Logistic Corps Museum in Winchester.
They thoroughly enjoyed browsing the many exhibits (the medal room being one of their favourites) & would certainly recommend popping by for a visit if you’re ever in the area. Thank you to all the staff at the museum for making them feel so welcome.

Tea, chat and a visit to Brambridge Garden centre
Recently some of our ladies enjoyed a trip to Brambridge Park Garden Centre for a wander & cuppa in the café. Brambridge is a favourite destination of ours and a bonus is it’s only a short drive away.
