Activities at Ross Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Stunning Day for a Walk

Before it became too hot Ross Court residents enjoyed a beautiful late morning walk. The flowers are looking stunning with an array of colour.  Today was also Yorkshire Day so we had a quiz with facts all about Yorkshire and ended the day with light soft movement to relaxing music.

Police Dogs Visit Ross Court

Ross Court had a lovely visit from local Dog handler PC Surridge.  He kindly brought his amazing dogs to visit us this morning and gave a talk to residents.  Everyone was delighted to meet them and so loved the experience.  Thank you again Ross Police, you know you are welcome to pop in any time for a cuppa and cake.

Cheese and Wine Afternoon

Today we finished off planting the herb seeds and they are now in the green house. It was also International Wine and Cheese Day so we celebrated in style and enjoyed an assortment of different kinds of cheeses, accompanied by a nice selection of red, white and rosé wine – the residents loved it!

Lavender Bags

Ross Court residents loved today’s activity making lavender scent bags.  Perfect for a relaxing chilled out afternoon.  We also enjoyed the old Ross on Wye train line on YouTube, back on our TV by popular demand!

Tea and Sunflowers

It was cooler today so residents spent some time in the gardens, Stella weeded the raised beds and showed off our very impressive sunflowers.  Everyone is enjoying time outside with tea and cake served in the gardens, everywhere is looking so pretty with an array of colour.

Water Fight!

Ross Court’s Activity Coordinator Hayley decided to turn the tables with quiz time, the residents asked her the questions!  For every incorrect answer she was sprayed with water from the large water guns, well that was how it was supposed to go, but ended up every time a question was answered whether right or wrong Hayley got sprayed!  It was great fun afternoon and an opportunity for Hayley to cool off in the heatwave!
