Activities at Rose Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Rose Lodge Care Home

National Gardening Week
National Garden Week is 28th April to 4th May and to celebrate this our residents enjoyed a spot of flower arranging.
Alice, Betty and Elizabeth chose their flowers and took great care to arrange them beautifully in vases, which are now proudly displayed around our home.
Flower arranging offers multiple benefits, including stimulating creativity, promoting relaxation, and engaging cognitive skills.
It also provides social opportunities, improves fine motor skills, and enriches the environment. Additionally, flower arranging can help residents connect with nature and express themselves through art. As well as enabling residents to be creative and use their imagination, it also encourages use of fingers and hands and is a great stress reliever, promoting a calm atmosphere.

Tea-rrific Afternoon of Tea Tasting
Staff and residents at the home were treated to a delicious tea tasting masterclass hosted by Katharine Parsons, Clipper Tea’s ambassador and all-round tea guru.
Residents joined Katharine on a journey all about Clipper tea - from how they started, to where they are today, why their teas are Natural, Fair and Delicious with some tea and infusion tastings along the way.
Katharine started off her talk with a tutored tasting of several different teas including Clipper’s Classic Fairtrade Black Tea, then a Green Tea followed by two different fruit infusions – Lemon & Ginger and Berry Burst which the residents really enjoyed.

Easter Celebrations
Our residents had a wonderful visit from a very special guest today - the Easter bunny! Elizabeth, Barbara and Alice really enjoyed the surprise during their lunch and were looking forward to the Easter eggs for dessert.
Bill and Betty lit up the room with their smiles when the bunny poked his head around the corner and really enjoyed choosing their Easter eggs.
With such wonderful options this definitely wasn’t an easy decision! Ann had a wonderful chat with the bunny and really enjoyed having a feel of his fluffy coat. Thank you so much to W.Bailey & Sons for brightening up our residents' day and providing so many Easter gifts..

Celebrating Amelia and Adrian
Our home has been celebrating the remarkable contributions of two young volunteers, Amelia and Adrian, who have brought endless smiles and joy to the residents.
Amelia, who is pursuing a diploma in Health and Social Care and aspires to become a social worker at King’s Lynn College, and Adrian, a student of architecture at De Montfort University who also does bank work, have fully embraced life at the care home. Their dedication and enthusiasm have made a significant impact on the residents, providing companionship and participating in various activities.
Residents, their relatives, and staff have all praised the positive energy and community spirit fostered by Amelia and Adrian.

U3A Arts and Crafts Club
We were pleased to welcome back our dear friends from the U3A Wisbech Arts and Crafts Club for another morning of creativity and social enjoyment.
This month, we were also joined by the wonderful Debbie from Gratitude 43, who participated in the artistic activities.
It was wonderful to see everyone engaging in a variety of creative mediums and enjoying each others company.

Memories and Mocktails
Our residents on Memory Lane participated in our Mocktails and Memories community event.
Our guests enjoyed a variety of delicious and refreshing mocktails (and cocktails) expertly mixed by Jane from our home activities team. Residents reminisced about past holidays to the seaside and shared memories of home with one another. The event was so popular and we can't wait to hold this on a regular basis.
