Activities at Rivermead Care Home
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered programme of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Life at Rivermead Care Home
Grand National Party
Today at Rivermead, we celebrated the grand National in style!
We started the day making bunting, colouring photos of what we hoped would be our winning horses, taking part in the sweepstake and preparing the prizes for our winning residents!
We enjoyed prosecco and bitter shandy’s and lots of snacks whilst watching the race and the residents were in high spirits hoping their horse wins!
Easter Celebrations 2023
Here at Rivermead we made Chocolate Easter Nests over on our Malton Unit.
The residents decorated rice crispy nests with Chocolate eggs and smarties. Although we struggled to find Mini Eggs we still think they turned out great!
Mother's Day 2023
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS
We thought you would enjoy these wonderful photos of a few of our lovely residents with their lovely flowers they received from their families to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Our lovely mothers, grandmothers, aunties, mother figures and friends were celebrated today with thanks and appreciation given to everybody.
Fitness Fantastic at Rivermead
Today at Rivermead we tried out chair exercises to wake us up before lunch time!
We followed a fitness video that got us moving our hips, arms and legs today. Our residents did amazing with this challenging exercise to really get our blood pumping before going to eat a lovely lunch prepared by our amazing chef.
Historic Royal Palaces
Across our services, our residents were treated to a special virtual sensory storytelling session. Together with Art Historian Jon Sleigh and the Historic Royal Palaces community team, we explored several royal palaces through the theme of food, dining and celebration!
We enjoyed a fantastic taste-a-long experience from the comfort of our home, from Tudor treats to Stuart sweets. A lovely time was had by all.
Cuddle Therapy from Puppies
Here at Rivermead one of our Care Assistants, Alex came in with her sweat puppy Olive!
Lots of residents and staff enjoyed cuddles with Olive throughout the morning. Jean, on memory lane said it was a pleasent suprise and that Olive was very well behaved for a puppy!
