Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home

At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.

Lisa Peart

Activities Coordinator

Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home

Sweet Treats

We are very lucky to be surrounded by so many supporting members of our community. We want to say a special thank you to Pobi Bach Crèche for collecting such lovely treats for our residents to enjoy this month.

,

Gentle Exercise

As the weather gets colder, the residents and staff come together every week to enjoy gentle exercise. The atmosphere is always fun and engaging, giving everyone the chance to get involved, no matter their abilities.

,

Eyes Down

Bingo is a firm favourite when it comes to activities here at Plas-Y-Dderwen, so when we had the chance to enjoy a garden party with tea and cakes as well as a few games of Bingo, everyone here was ‘eyes down for a full house’.

Pet Therapy

We were so happy to welcome back our smallest little member of the Plas-Y-Dderwen family, Lil Bug.

Saying Farewell

Staff and residents were overjoyed to have been able to celebrate the continued journey of one of our own this month. Although we are all sad to see her go, this wonderful lady has worked had to improve her mobility so that she no longer needs our specialist care and can now live more independently closer to her family. We spent the day sharing our fondest memories to cries of laughter with many tears shed at the thought of a friend we’ll miss.

Summer Fête

Residents and staff were treated to all the fun of the fair. There was a raffle, with prizes kindly donated by the local businesses and live entertainment to end the day.
