Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
A Christmas Carol with the Old Vic
Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes. A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.
Animal Mischief
Ouse View was full of animal mischief this month when a pony dressed in a Christmas costume and two dogs both dressed up too came to visit the home.
Residents at Ouse View Care Home were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friends roaming around their lounge as Well-being with Animals paid a visit.
Festive Floristry Workshop
Staff and residents across our homes were treated to an interactive virtual Christmas-inspired table decorating masterclass, courtesy of talented master florist, Kathryn Delve.
Kathryn is an independent florist based in Somerset, she specialises in creating unique wedding and event flowers. She takes much of her inspiration for her displays from the beautiful scenery that surrounds her home and the changing seasons and colours.
During the workshop, residents were invited to join Kathryn to make beautiful Christmas-themed table decorations.
Walk through a landscape
Residents across our services had a lovely time joining Emily and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to Reubens' Rainbow Landscape.
Residents truly enjoyed the sensory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.
Everyone who joined had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to put their creative skills to the test by painting some landscapes of our their in the coming days!
Home remember with poppy display
Ouse View commemorated Remembrance Day on Sunday 10th November. They joined the rest of the United Kingdom in holding a two-minute silence at 11am.
As well as marking Remembrance Day by wearing poppies and watching the televised service from The Cenotaph, residents took part in therapeutic activities working on a Remembrance Day memorial. They used recycled bottles to make poppies, painting them red and black and making them drape on a cargo net. They have a wreath and old photos. The residents were in awe when they saw the finished piece. A resident came to have a look at the memorial saw the pictures and then brought back a picture to put on it of her father at the age of 19 when he joined the army. Residents enjoyed a remembrance day sing along and quiz on remembrance day too.
The day the zoo paid a visit
Ouse View was full of animal mischief on Tuesday 22nd October when the mobile zoo came to visit the home. Residents at Ouse View were pleasantly surprised to see animals such as a corn snake and a royal python, a bearded dragon and a skink, a tortoise and a tiny hedgehog roaming around their lounge as Joe’s Exotic Mobile Zoo paid a visit.

Come along and make new friends, share experiences and enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake.
Coffee Morning - 3rd Wednesday of the month
We extend a warm invitation for you to join us as we host our monthly coffee morning, make new friends and take a tour of our home. All welcome.
Don't Dine Alone - Every Friday
We know mealtimes can be lonely for older members of our community and we extend a warm invitation for those to join us at our weekly - Don't Dine Alone, Fridays from 12.15pm.
