Activities at Ouse View Care Home
We understand that the people we will be supporting will have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our activities team will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active.
We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love. We also enjoy our regular clubs, virtual events and varied life enrichment programme.

Life at Ouse View Care Home
Muffin Delivery to Ambulance Response Teams
Here at Ouse View we reached out to our local community to 'give back' especially to our hard working Emergency response teams at the York Teaching Hospital.
Staff from the home handed out delicious lemon, blueberry and double chocolate chip muffins as a way to say thank you for all their continued hard work.
We look forward to working closely with the teams over the years to come.
Valentines Day
It has truly been a heart-warming day at Ouse View Care Home. Our residents and staff came together to explore the true meaning of love by creating heart shaped Valentine's decorations and have been whisked away in armchair travel Venice. The highlight of the day was the meaningful discussion about love and the touching Valentine's sing-along with Dan from Biiah.
Residents have enjoyed singing ‘Love Is In The Air’ by John Paul Young and ‘All You Need Is Love’ by The Beatles. To top it off, we indulged in a delightful Gin & Truffle tasting treat event with families and visitors in the home in the afternoon.
It is a day filled with love, connection and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special.
Table Hockey Tournament
Here at Ouse View residents brought their ‘A-Game’ to the table hockey tournament and the competition was certainly intense. The best part of the activity was how the residents cheered each other on, showing sportsmanship at its finest. Everyone showed off their skills and battled it out on the table, residents at Ouse View love to suggest new game ideas, do you have any ideas or suggestions for the team?

National Pizza Day
Today is National Pizza Day and here at Ouse View residents had a blast celebrating! Residents got creative and whipped up their own delicious pizzas, from scratch. From the classic 'Margherita' to ham & cheese and spicy paprika - there was a pizza for every taste bud.
Our residents got to share their creations with each other and enjoy a fun, social dining experience.
Happy National Pizza Day to everyone, especially our resident chefs!
Six Nations Rugby
Residents at Ouse View had a wonderful weekend watching the Rugby Six Nations. The excitement was palpable as we cheered on Wales vs Ireland. The residents can't wait to see how England will perform in their upcoming match!
Parachute Games
Yesterday afternoon our wonderful residents came together to a enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, playing a game of parachutes.
The game is fun and was enjoyed by all of our residents, as well as staff.
It was a wonderful group exercise and getting everyone active.
Elsewhere on Memory Lane a group of our residents enjoyed an afternoon Movie Matinee screening of 'South Pacific'
Our residents enjoyed this cinematic classic within the comfort of our beautiful cinema room.
