Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Our Magical Mystery Tour

Our Magical Mystery Tour

This wonderful poem was written by a resident:

Our Magical Mystery Tour

First trip of the year
The car is in gear
We are off to hunt for snowdrops!
White fluffy clouds like mops
Spread over a clear blue sky
The sun is shining on high
Climb up Selsley Hill
On to wide open spaces
Where Cotswold sheep with white faces
Enjoy the swedes
Making room for new seeds
Fresh furrow ploughed
Attract the seagull crowd
Now down a steep winding lane
Surrounded by trees
To our great pleasure
We find treasure
Clumps of white bells
Snuggled up in the dells
Mission accomplished
But no ... we are not finished
The view over The Severn
Completes our heaven
With a rainbow display
To end the day!

Our Christmas Tree

Our Christmas Tree

As you can see, Moreton Hill has yarn bombed the Christmas tree with pom-poms made by residents, staff and even relatives. What fun it's been and the result is truly fabulous!

Our Latest Project

Our Latest Project

These fabulous fish are the results of our latest pottery project; the residents really enjoyed making them along with the seaweed! Pottery is taught once a month on the second Wednesday with paddy, a local potter from Gloucester.

Scary Hair Day

Scary Hair Day

Scary hair day went down well with staff and residents. Resident, Shirley, in her rainbow wig, enjoyed the double looks she got and Head Housekeeper, Sue, just confused everyone as her 'before' look was scarier than her 'after'.

10 Years Service Award

10 Years Service Award

Administration Assistant, Carole Meecham, received her 10 Years Service award from resident, Dorothy, along side two newly appointed managers. Congratulations, Carole!

Nation Poetry Day

Nation Poetry Day

Resident, Moira, wrote a poem in celebration of National Poetry Day, which was on Thursday 6th October.

The Rainbow

When I first wake and rise
I go to my window and open my eyes.
One day there was a special surprise -
A wonderful rainbow over the Severn
And the Forest of Dean could be seen.
Seven colours in the morning light
Making an incredible sight.
I feel so lucky to have such a view,
And thought that I would share it with you.
