Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Getting Creative with Paper Mache

We don't want to keep mentioning the weather but if we are honest it is all most of us are talking about! Fortunately Lorna has bought lots of creativity to Moreton Hill so we are keeping busy until summer arrives this weekend. The latest project is to make Paper Mache bowls, everyone agreed it was quite therapeutic ripping up paper! Lumi, our Deputy Manager also lent a hand with this popular activity, they have been left to dry and then we will decorate, we very much look forward to showing off the finished bowls, which we thought would be ideal for trinkets in their rooms.

Village with Memories

Our latest trip out was very special for one resident. As we drove along the Severn through Elmore she was able to show us the house she was born in, her school and the church where she married. Eddy our gardener kindly stepped in to drive us and his extensive knowledge of the area made this outing very interesting.

Skittles are a Hit!

Skittles are proving to be a real hit at Moreton Hill, with some definite competition between residents! As with all physical activity it isn't just the benefit of movement it is the social interaction and positive feelings after taking part.

International Nurses Day

To honour International Nurses Day, Moreton Hill nurses Lumi and Simona presented Evelyn with a bouquet of flowers to thank her for her 40 years as a nurse. We would like to thank all nurses past and present for the amazing job they do and for all their hard work.

Lizzy and Ruby Return

We were delighted to welcome back Lizzy and Ruby this weekend. They had such a fuss made of them and everyone was smiling. Pets as Therapy offer so many physical and mental health benefits including releasing endorphins and lifting spirits. We look forward to their next visit!

Stroll on Minchinhampton Common

Will it rain? This has been the question all week, as we look across our vast views we can see lots of different looking clouds! We were so glad we took a chance and visited Minchinhampton Common yesterday, we were able to go on a short stroll and enjoy the different views. The minibus trips are bringing many smiles and we are so fortunate to have so many places to visit nearby.
