Activities at Moreton Hill Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Memory Lane Enjoy Magic Table

Moreton Hill is fortunate to have a Tovertafel Magic Table. Designed in the Netherlands the Tovertafel uses interactive games to connect those living with dementia. Using interactive light projections there are a variety of games. Today residents enjoyed three games the first rose petals and love hearts swishing around to reveal pink love hears popping. We then displayed different fabrics which start off grey and as you move your hand or foot over the image colours are displayed. Then there was great fun with sweets, you step on the sweets to move them into the bag, the more sweets the more points!

Creative Floral Displays

Regular visitors to Moreton Hill we are sure will have noticed the beautiful flower arrangements in reception and around the home. Today we have experimented with different vessels using tea cups and boxes for our arrangements. As you will see from the photos the end results are stunning with our creative residents really enjoying this activity.

Summer BBQ

We all had a wonderful time at our summer BBQ over the weekend. There were smiles all round as residents gathered in the Courtyard for a delicious selection of BBQ food and salads. We all then settled in the shade to enjoy Shelia and Steve singing, it was marvelous to welcome them back to Moreton Hill again. We then rounded off the day with a traditional afternoon tea. It was such a relaxed afternoon in the warm weather.

Anyone for Tennis?

What better way to start Wimbledon fortnight than our own game of tennis, followed by Pimm's and strawberries and cream. Residents really enjoyed their own Wimbledon and look forward to the forthcoming games.

Bird Table in Memory

Moreton Hill have been presented with a very special bird table. The table has a plaque in memory of a former resident and also thanks the team for the care they gave. We would like to thank the family and friends of Steve Collins for such a kind gesture. Our residents love all the wildlife at Moreton Hill and watching the birds is a pleasure.

National Picnic Week

It is National Picnic Week, a week dedicated to enjoying the food and traditions of picnics along with encouraging people to enjoy their local outdoor spaces. At Moreton Hill we have many acres of our own outdoor space and residents enjoyed picnic food sat out in the courtyards. The sunny day gave Moreton Hill a real Mediterranean feel.
