Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.

Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Future Planning Seminar
We were privileged to be visited by Philip Sainsbury from local solicitors, Murray Hills.
Philip gave a highly informative talk to the visiting community, our residents and relatives about the importance of writing a will, lasting power of attorney and probate amongst many other aspects of future planning which was gratefully received by the audience.
Our Customer Relationship Manager, Mark was also present to answer any questions our visitors had with regards to care.
There was also a selection of home made cakes and refreshments on offer courtesy of our wonderful kitchen team.

Olive's Festive Retirement Party
We were delighted to welcome Guide Dog Olive and her owner Raven, as Olive enjoyed a special retirement party to celebrate her long service with her owner. Olive is now over 11 years old and has worked as a Guide Dog since she was 18 months old.
Everyone at the home wishes Olive a very happy retirement, and Olive will be visiting us in the New Year in her new role as a therapy dog. Finally, we were also thrilled to welcome Santa Claus as he visited Mallard Court to wish our residents and Olive a very merry Christmas.

Mulled Wine & Mince Pies
The residents and guests thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon filled with festive music, mulled wine, mince pies, and delightful company as our Christmas events scheduled carried on at pace.
They reminisced about Christmases past and shared their favourite festive memories. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon filled with merriment.

Festive Spirit in the Community
In the spirit of community engagement and togetherness, our team visited the Bridlington ambulance station, police station, and fire station, bringing along a selection of freshly baked minced pies and festive treats.
The homemade goods were warmly received by our blue-light heroes.

A Christmas Carol with the Old Vic
Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes. A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.

Christmas Fayre
At Mallard Court Care Home in Bridlington, we kicked off our Christmas celebrations in style. Yesterday, we had a dual celebration with our Christmas Fete and Community Open Day.
