Castle Park Care Home in Hull
Castle Park is a part of Castle Care Village, a group of friendly, single-storey, purpose-built homes set in a quiet environment on the eastern edge of Hull. With safe access to extensive wheelchair-accessible gardens, there is a wide selection of shops within walking distance and good public transport links. As Castle Park is within a short distance of the coast, resident visits to local seaside resorts are often arranged.
Our home provides support for 26 younger adults, largely between 18 and working age, whose primary needs are based on physical disabilities. However, they may also have learning disabilities or mental health needs. Our range of person-centred care services also includes 24-hour nursing care, physiotherapy and care for Huntingdon’s and Parkinson’s.
Care and support is based on care planning, which residents and their relatives are involved in. Care plans are based on dignity, independence and choice, having access to appropriate medical services and on rehabilitative goals. Some residents have been successfully supported in completing NVQs and gaining regular employment.
As with all Barchester homes, the staff group prides itself on its commitment to hospitality, to good food and to offering a wide range of activities, including accessing local facilities, such as swimming pools, pubs, shops and cafés.
Please feel free to drop in for a tour of the home, or to call us if you would like advice or help.

Our Team
The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Wendy Sugden
Hi, my name is Wendy and I am the General Manager here at Castle Park. Welcome to our website.
My background was initially medically elderly nursing some 20+ years ago (where does time fly) . I can honestly say I have loved every area of nursing I have worked, from surgical, infectious diseases, oncology, working at opposite sides of the world, but since joining Castle Park in 2012 I have become so involved with each and every one of the younger residents we care for, they feel like an extended family to me, I am now in my forever job role.
We strive for ways to promote independence, enhance lifestyles and hopefully have a lot of fun along the way. We appreciate how hard complex care can be for families that is why after the Coronavirus pandemic we made the decision to have a dedicated respite room to support families who need a little bit of breathing space for a short while.
My team and I have many years of experience and enhanced skill, which enable us all deliver the highest standard of care to look after your loved ones.
Please meet some of my team who are as passionate about Castle Park as I am.
