Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Amanda McCarthy
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Lethen Park Care Home

Etta's love for antiques!
Etta has had a great room activity with activities. Etta has always been a great lover of TV shows and loved watching the Antique Road show with Amanda. During this activity, Etta was very interested in all the different types of antiques. Etta and Amanda had a great conversation about how we would spend our money and on what items. Amanda virtually bought a brass kettle and Etta purchased a mirror.
During this activity, Etta was very engaged and was able to find herself enjoying the company of Amanda and was reminiscing of all her times at car boot sales. Etta took great pride in telling all the stories about her visits to boot sales and items that she bought and sold.
Etta had a brilliant time!

Wildlife spotting
Jess had a great room activity with activities. Jess has always been a great lover of wildlife and loved spotting nature when she was walking. During this activity, Jess was very interested in all the different types of animals in the book. We spoke about them all and encouraged Jess to read all about them.
During this activity, Jess was very engaged and was able to describe some of the animals for herself.
Jess took great pride in turning the pages to see what was next and was very intrigued by her findings. The book was full of colour.
Jess had a brilliant time and showed happiness and joy.

A Christmas Carol
Across our homes we’ve had the most wonderful time celebrating the festive season with a special screening of 2020’s OLD VIC: IN CAMERA – A Christmas Carol.
This beautifully staged production brought the magic of Dickens’ classic tale right into our homes. A huge thank you to The Old Vic theatre for sharing this incredible performance with us. It was a truly wonderful experience.

Festive Floristry Workshop
Staff and residents across our homes were treated to an interactive virtual Christmas-inspired table decorating masterclass, courtesy of talented master florist, Kathryn Delve.
Kathryn is an independent florist based in Somerset, she specialises in creating unique wedding and event flowers. She takes much of her inspiration for her displays from the beautiful scenery that surrounds her home and the changing seasons and colours.
During the workshop, residents were invited to join Kathryn to make beautiful Christmas-themed table decorations.

The Wallace Collection
Residents across our services had a lovely time joining Emily and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to Reubens' Rainbow Landscape.
Residents truly enjoyed the sensory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.
Everyone who joined had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to put their creative skills to the test by painting some landscapes of our their in the coming days!

Pedal Power
Resident, Sandy had always wanted ride a bike again, so staff at the home made his wish a reality with the help of his beloved son, Ian and his daughter in law, Leysa.
Sandy has lived at Lethen Park for a year and is loved by staff and residents alike. Staff at the home were delighted to be a part of making his dream come true, as they knew how much it meant to him and they all wanted to be there to see the smile on Sandy’s face.
Activities Coordinator, Amanda first found out about Sandy’s dream of riding a bike again when they were out walking in the community to their regular club - The Men’s Shed, ever since then, the home has been dedicated to helping him achieve it.
