Activities at Lethen Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Amanda McCarthy

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Productive afternoons at Lethen Park

What a brilliant day we have had here at Lethen Park. From fresh donuts to tatties and chives from our garden.

Followed by our resident of the day Jessie supporting Amanda with activities.

And if all of the above was not enough Hazel, David and Etta all helped with the garden project and helped Amanda water all the plants. Our garden is looking beautiful just as we enjoy it the warmer weather!

To top a wonderful day, our residents family representative Sunny let us use his hose and sprinkler.

What a fantastic Thursday it’s been!

Summer Fun at Lethen Park

We had a great afternoon outdoors in the sunshine picking some tatties for our fresh tattie salad tomorrow. And of course, we didn't forget our hats and factor!

Story Time with local Nursery

This week we had Great Western Pre School Nursery and Out of School Clubs in for their story time and what a fun afternoon it was.

Story time is now part of our weekly schedule and we are looking forward to seeing all the Children every Wednesday!

Virtual event with Dr Tim Howard

Residents across our homes had a lovely time joining Dr Tim Howard, 4th generation GP, whose whole life has been about patient care, for an exciting virtual event to discuss his novel ‘Let’s Kill All The Lawyers’.

The novel is a medical fiction thriller that explores the impact of life and death events, mistakes and forgiveness, and the impact of law and justice on the day- to-day lives of ordinary people doing their best in difficult circumstances.

Residents had the chance to ask their own questions once the discussion was over and a great time was had by all.

Independence Day celebrations

We celebrated 4th Of July in true American style.

We enjoyed listening to some of the all - time favourite American hits, as we gathered together for classic hot dogs prepared by our amazing chef.

It was a great day, enjoyed by all.

Virtual singing session

Our home had a fantastic time with vocal coach Mark De-Lisser as he led an amazing virtual singing session for our residents to enjoy.

Our residents were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I’m a Believer’ by The Monkees.

There were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
