Activities at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Kimberley Calvert
Hi my name is Kimberley, Senior Activities Coordinator, and here at Leeming Bar our life enrichment programme is varied, providing choice for our residents and incorporating their interests and hobbies. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within Leeming Bar, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents, and their families and friends.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home

Residents realise dream
Resident’s Colin Hutchinson and Eric Bailey are proud veterans and wished to reconnect with their armed services background, so staff at the home made their wish a reality by supporting the gentlemen to attend RAF Leeming’s Family Fun Day, proving the old adage, it’s never too late to rekindle old passions!
As part of Leeming Bar Grange’s ‘Wish Upon a Star at Leeming Bar’ Initiative their dedicated life enrichment team reached out to RAF Leeming and the Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA) who were only happy to help make Colin and Eric’s wish come true! Colin and Eric have lived at Leeming Bar Grange for a number of year and are beloved by staff and residents alike. Kim Calvert, Senior Activities Co-ordinator at Leeming Bar Grange said “It is an absolute honour to know Colin and Eric and we are incredibly grateful for the service of both; we are so glad to have helped create the biggest of smiles for both gentlemen.”

Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside!
We certainly chose the right day for a jaunt out to the coast!
As residents enthusiastically embarked on the homes mini bus they chose the family favourite of Redcar seafront for our mini bus adventure!
The sun shone brightly as residents enjoyed a stroll along the seafront; appreciating the salty sea air, and waves crashing upon the shore.
And of course we couldn't resist traditional fish & chips for lunch, followed by the Redcar classic, lemon top ice cream!
"A marvellous day" to quote resident Olive!

Game, Set, Laugh!
Our life enrichment team served up a day of fun as we celebrated Wimbledon season!
Residents began their day by whipping up some delicious Eton Mess filled with the juiciest strawberries!
As our delicious treats chilled in the fridge, residents enjoyed some friendly competition with enthusiastic games of balloon tennis, followed by refreshing glasses of Pimm's and our indulgent Eton Mess!
A LOVEly day!

Homes join 100th virtual event
