Activities at Leeming Bar Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Kimberley Calvert
Hi my name is Kimberley, Senior Activities Coordinator, and here at Leeming Bar our life enrichment programme is varied, providing choice for our residents and incorporating their interests and hobbies. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within Leeming Bar, and we work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents, and their families and friends.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Easter Eggstravaganza!
This Easter Monday, we welcomed our friends from the community into the home for an eggstra special Easter egg hunt and Easter bonnet crafting!
The April showers didn't dampen our spirits as residents were thrilled to see the children eggcitedly searching for lots of chocolatey treats!
After all the hunting, it was time for refreshments as everyone came together to create their most eggstravagant Easter bonnet to win a prize!
A huge thank you to those who visited; it was lovely to see friends old and new. We hope to see you all again soon!

Happy Easter!
We hope your Easter day was as crackin' as ours! To mark this holy occasion, residents begin their day with traditional hymns and moments of reflection during a time that is significant in many of our residents' lives.
Our incredible chef Michelle and the dining team prepared a delicious traditional Easter roast lunch with all the trimmings which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Despite our full bellies, we of course made room for lots of chocolate & sweeties as the Easter bunny hopped in to surprise the residents! Here's to an eggcellent day!

Eggstra Special Guests
Residents & the team are incredibly egg-cited to announce that we have hatched 10 beautiful feathered friends to spend time with us over the Easter period!
Following hatching in their incubator, the chicks have now set up home in their brooding box, and have been enjoying cuddles with residents & the team

Thank you for the music!
This April our open day saw us say 'thank you for the music' as we welcomed friends old and new into the home to celebrate International ABBA Day!
Chris Gilly had all our dancing queens and kings showcasing their best moves to ABBA’s greatest hits!
A wonderful day; a huge thank you to everyone who came along to join in the fun!

Pawty Time!
This March our good friends Jack and Ella the Therapy Dogs from Therapy Dogs Nationwide celebrated their birthdays with us! This month Jack turned 13 and Ella 11 years old!
Jack and Ella encourage us to celebrate life and recognise the special moments we continue to share with one another, so we felt it very important to celebrate our pawsome pals today!
The birthday duo wore their party hats with pride as they visited their friends, enjoying lots of cuddles, treats, party games such as 'catch the sausage' and fetch, along with a birthday singsong as they were presented with a homemade birthday cake made with love by Jack's Mum, Wendy.
Here to celebrating you Jack and Ella! A huge thank you to Mums Wendy and Maggie for allowing us to be a part of Jack and Ella's celebrations.
A pawfect day was had by all!

World Book Day!
This March we marked World Book Day by visiting our wonderful little friends at Aiskew, Leeming Bar Church of England Primary School to donate a selection of books.
As always we were made to feel very welcome and stayed to take part in collective worship and watch the children enthusiastically play tag!
As the joyous chitter chatter and laughter filled the playground residents couldn't help but smile with the children!
Another wonderful day, a huge thank you to Head Teacher Bethany for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful school community.
