Activities at Kingsland House Care Home

Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.

Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.

At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.

Life at Kingsland House Care Home

Race Night!

Residents at Kingsland House recently enjoyed an evening of horse racing. Nick joined us for the evening and residents had a great time placing bets with their tokens. There was quite a bit of competitiveness to see who could win the top prize!

World First Aid Day

Residents at Kingsland House recently enjoy taking part in World First Aid Day. Time was spent talking about how first aid over the years has changed, and some of the ladies had a fun afternoon practicing putting bandages on each other. At Kingsland House, we have ex-nurses as residents and this activity brought back some lovely memories for them.

Afternoon Magic

Residents at Kingsland House recently enjoyed an afternoon of magic provided by David Croucher, a local magician. Residents at the home enjoyed lots of different tricks, and assisted with some.

Flower Power

Residents enjoy creating beautiful displays for the dining areas. This week a display was created for the reception area with sunflowers and foliage from the garden. Residents love that everyone visiting the home smiles when they see the display.

Helping Hands

Our activities team have had a little help; Audrey was so pleased that she was able to wear a uniform and feel part of the team. She is a very social lady and always wants to help. Audrey spent time giving out the newspapers to the residents every morning with her happy mornings smile & assisted with some of the activities. She also spent time chatting to the ladies and gentlemen about their lives and sharing her life experiences.

Furry Friends

Staff and residents at Kingsland House  got up close and personal with some furry friends when they celebrated International Cat Day on August 8th.

International Cat Day is an annual event to celebrate one of man’s most common and ancient pets. Cats have even been worshipped as gods in some cultures, some might say they still are!
