Activities at Kingsland House Care Home
Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.
Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.
At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.

Life at Kingsland House Care Home
Messages of Thanks for Remembrance Day
Time and care was taken here at Kingsland House to create some beautiful heart shapes and write messages of thanks on them for Remembrance Day. We also discussed the meaning behind the message in the heartfelt poem “The Poppy”.
Keeping our birds fed through Winter
Here at Kingsland House we like to take care of our birds throughout the Winter, so we topped up our bird feeders in the garden and enjoyed some fresh winter air at the same time.
Halloween Celebrations
A weekend of Halloween activities took place here at Kingsland House from pumpkin carving to a Halloween-themed buffet and cakes provided by our chef. We also opened our Kingsland Tavern Bar to add to the celebrations.
PetPals
Residents were very excited to stroke the Guinea pigs and play with the kittens in the pen. Great therapeutic fun was had by all.
Smoothie Tasting
We decided to put our taste buds to the test and sampled various flavours of milkshakes and smoothies. I think it’s safe to say that all were enjoyed as we discussed the various fruits that are used to create these flavours.
Sharing Stories
Residents at Kingsland House recently enjoyed an afternoon sharing the life story of one of their residents. He spent the whole of his working life at sea. He started cadet college when he left school and worked up through the ranks to Captain, which he is very proud of. Residents at the home enjoyed hearing his story and it meant a lot to him sharing it with others.
