Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

Simply come along to our reception to collect an entry form and then head to town to start searching. Once you have found all the bunnies, return the form and claim your Cadbury’s Crème Egg! You can also email your entry to us. All entries will be placed in a draw to win a large Easter Egg and Bunny Toy!

Well Done Team Moors Manor!

Well done to the team at Moors Manor who walked over 13 miles today and who have raised over £155 for Helping Hounds Assistance Dogs!

Have a look at their journey on Moors Manor

They stopped in at Kings Park to re-energise themselves with cookies and flapjacks that Sue, our chef, had prepared especially!

Happy Birthday Pat!

There were many Happy Birthday wishes to our lovely Pat on her birthday!

Pat is a very special lady to us all at Kings Park as she is one of our first residents! She loves to welcome visitors to the home, is always eager to compliment our team on how lovely we are and she always joins in for a dance!

Our Chef, Sarah, surprised Pat with her favourite cake, a Victoria Sponge

Mother's Day at Kings Park

What a lovely Mother’s Day we had at Kings Park! All mums were treated to a stunning bouquet of flowers and our Chef, Sarah made a fabulous cake.

Our amazing kitchen team also prepared an Afternoon Tea of sandwiches and cakes for all our residents and some of their relatives.

One relative wrote: “Many Thanks to you all for the amazing effort of providing such a delicious Mothers Day Tea. Just a pity my mother chose to sit with her new friends leaving us outside on our own! We are still chuckling about it now!”

We hope all Mums had a lovely day!

Nick Sings on Friday

We love it when our home is full of the sound of music and Nick never disappoints our residents with his range of songs!

Our Friday afternoon wind down music entertainers are a great way for us all to end the week.

Mother's Day Flowers

With Mother’s Day looming, Ferndown Florists once again went above and beyond with our Reception display!

Doesn’t it look lovely, modelled here with our Administration Manager Ali…who is most definitely a ‘Best Mum’!

Thank you once again Nicole and Sue at Ferndown Florists!
