"Kings Park provided excellent care for my husband who has Alzheimer's and was having a two week respite break. From the moment he arrived he was looked after and encouraged to participate in a range of activities created by the activities coordinator and her team. Kings Park provided a very comfortable and homely environment. The food looked delicious and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the superb team of carers who looked after my husband with care, respect, patience, dignity and always with a smile. Thanks also to the general manager, home services advisor, deputy manager, home administrator, administrator assistant and another staff member for their help, support and cheerfulness even when I was having a difficult day. Thank you to the team of staff on the front desk who always greeted us with a friendly face. From the first moment I walked into Kings Park many months ago I felt like I had had a hug. Thank you for looking after my husband. Thank you for looking after me too."

"Does the care home measure up to what you see on an open day? Most definitely yes. Kings Park treats residents with care and respect at all times. The care home staff can be described as true friends of the residents. Facilities are excellent and the activities that are laid on are varied and stimulating. Each resident is treated as special and this care home is special, very special."

"Kings Park is a beautiful care home with amazing staff .However the website states that this home is for dementia care yet my mother who has dementia was asked to leave after 2 weeks because her behaviour became "too complex" for them to deal with . The "complex" behaviour that was mentioned was due to my mother being moved many times in hospital and then to kings Park . Anyone who knows about dementia will know that changes causes stress in dementia patients and that then can produce all kinds of behaviours. My mother was not given a chance to settle in before they asked me to move her and in the 2nd week she settled in well . Also there were only 2 members of staff on the dementia floor and a comment was made that if they had more staff, they would have been able to cope with the behaviours. Kings park is a lovely place but I would think very carefully before choosing it for dementia care and be prepared to move your relative if they show any behaviours that they can't cope with ."

"As a resident in this care home I find that although I would prefer living at home, this is really the next best thing. I find it to be very clean, warm and an extremely comfortable place in which to live. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful, the food is good and we are provided with and encouraged to partake in various events, games and the like to keep us entertained. I would commend it to anyone aged as a good place in which to live."

"Until recently my wife was a resident in the dementia unit at Kings Park Care Home. Initially for a period of respite care and then as a permanent resident. During her stay the care and compassion provided by the whole team at Kings Park was exceptional. As my wife's health deteriorated a move to a specialist dementia care home became necessary. The assistance given in initiating and facilitating the move by the management and staff at Kings Park was above and beyond what I could have hoped for. I have no hesitation in recommending Kings Park."

"My mother has been a resident for over two years. Initially on the ground floor and now on memory land, the specialist dementia floor. She is settled and content. All of the staff take great interest in her well-being. The whole home is immaculate and extremely well-equipped. Mum particularly enjoys the garden and trips out in the home's minibus."

"When trying to identify the right home for my mother, we found the manager and her team to be very professional in ensuring, they could meet my mother's needs. Their assessment not only focused on understanding her care needs but also took into account her social needs and well-being. Barchester Kings Park Care Home offers a high standard of care and provides a wide range of daily activities. We were able to visit the home the day before to set up her room and when she arrived, my mother was immediately made to feel welcome and met with the chef to discuss her dietary needs. We left feeling confident that my mother would be looked after and as became evident the following day, they would liaise with us if they had any concerns. Unfortunately, my mother became unexpectedly unwell, the staff responded immediately, took all the correct steps and kept us informed of what they were doing. We have no hesitation in recommending Kings Park and only wish they had nursing care so my mum could return there."

"Barchester Kings Park Care Home is run professionally and efficiently but also manages to retain a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both residents and relatives. The premises are purpose-built, clean and comfortable. My father spent two and a half years here and was happy and fond of the staff. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to others."

"During the period in question, I was placed in your care home to enable my full-time carers some respite. While I was there, all my needs were satisfied quickly and with a pleasing touch of humour which was very much to my taste. Well done!"

"Our cousin has been in Barchester Kings Park Care Home for almost two years. Her quality of life has improved and she is well cared for in both health and mental activity. Physically, she looks more relaxed and well cared for. When she was living in her own bungalow, she looked worried and was a danger to herself. The staff are kind and loving and she has responded well to this attention."

"My nan has been at Barchester Kings Park Care Home for nearly a year now. It is clear to see how settled, happy and well looked after she is. The staff at Kings Park are a very special group of people, they'd do anything for the residents. Each and every time we visit, we are greeted with a smile. If you're looking for somewhere to care for a loved one how you'd care for them yourself then Kings Park is the place."

"My brother's and I visited a lot of care homes in the Ferndown area but once we had visited Kings Park, it always stayed at the top of our list because of the positive attitude of the staff and the planned actions the management had to improve mum's quality of life. Mum has now been at Kings Park for almost 4 weeks and we've seen our mothers quality of life and wellbeing greatly improve over this period. She is taking her medicines, eating plenty of delicious food offered at Kings Park, socialising with the other residents and going on organised trips to Bournemouth and the New Forest. More than that we all think mum is happy at Kings Park. Well done to the Kings Park team."

"I just wish to thank your whole team for the excellent care and attention given to my father-in-law during his stay with you. You handled everything with great efficiency and expertise, but more than that you really did care in an emotional sense for his wellbeing and happiness. Yes, the building itself is first class but in my opinion, your staff are above that."

"Mother and father-in-law arrived at Kings Park after quite a few problematic weeks, mother from another care home and father a month later from hospital. The staff at Kings Park have been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, everything is explained in good detail. The management team have been extremely helpful, understanding and accommodating of our family needs. The care staff are patient, kind and compassionate to just the right level and the admin team can always find the answer to questions and is extremely welcoming. All in all a beautiful home with excellent facilities and excellent staff."

"The inability to get any assistance for my mother with her phone, she's a stroke victim and her phone wasn't charged for 12 out of 14 days stay, The inability of being able to speak to anyone that could answer the phone or assist in this matter cut my mother off from any contact, save the carers for all but 3 days of her stay due to not also being taken to the dining area. A Covid outbreak meant some were isolated, including my mum who didn't have it. Food below expectations also, fresh was expected not reheated. Disappointing after previous brilliant service at another Barchester home."

"My mother moved into Kings Park in October as one of their first residents. My first visit was not until April as I live in the US. I can not overstate how impressed I was with the facilities and the staff. I had communicated with them prior to my visit; they could not have been more helpful or friendly. I was able to spend time with my mother every day, and they allowed us to use one of their wheelchairs when I took her out. The resident's rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The public areas are beautifully decorated and always clean and welcoming. I feel very comfortable that my mother is in the best possible place and is very well taken care of. I am looking forward to my next visit later this year."

"Absolutely brilliant! Staff are friendly, and caring for the residents is the number one priority. Granny is the happiest she has been for years, and we are so grateful for everything they have made the change into the care home so easy! The staff are always happy to take a moment to answer our questions also, which makes the transition feel less scary. Really happy!"

"My mother has been in Kings Park since September of last year, shortly after the new home opened. Myself and my two brothers have been very happy with the quality of the home, staff and facilities. More importantly, so has my mother, who settled in very quickly and has made a lot of new friends."

"My mum was the first resident at Kings Park Care Home and was treated like royalty upon arrival and ever since. Mum has settled in very well following a turbulent time due to her dementia. All the staff and management have been absolutely fantastic and I couldn't praise them highly enough. I know mum is happy there and that makes me and our family happy and grateful. The support from everyone means the world to mum and all of her children. Thank you Kings Park."

"As a family, we are very pleased with all the care and support my mum received from all the staff at Barchester. The staff are very friendly, always willing to help whenever needed. I have seen my mum settle into her new home since last November. She is really enjoying all the activities that are available to her. My mum has dementia and she feels very safe at King's Park. Mum is always treated with dignity and care, very pleased with the overall experience."

"My husband was a resident at Kings Park from January-November 2023. He had complex needs but was treated with compassion, empathy and dignity. As a family we found the care and support given to us as well as my husband was excellent. Sadly my husband passed away in November but as a family we found the kindness and support especially from two members of staff in particular at this sad time was such a comfort. Kings Park is an excellent care home for your loved ones."

"Kings Park is a beautiful, bright home I have found it to be so welcoming, the staff are all so friendly and they always make time to speak and help with any questions. It was a very hard decision to put my dear friend into a home, but the staff made it so easy, no pressure and were just all round a great support to settling her in. We definitely chose the right place. Thank you Kings Park."
