Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Angela Cawsey
Hello, I am Angela the Activities Lead.
I am delighted to be part of the team at Kings Park after a transferring from a sister home in Salisbury, following my relocation to this area.
With experience in this role, my passion is bringing joy to our residents, whether on a one-to-one basis or in groups. I love getting to know each resident and incorporating their interests into engaging, meaningful activities and events that nurture the mind, body and spirit to enhance their well-being and life enrichment at our home. Making people smile is what I do best!
During lockdown, I ran daily Zoom sessions for well-being, including bingo and quizzes. When my children were young I volunteered as a helper at Boys Brigade and St John's Ambulance which was very rewarding. I love being a Grandma, music, crafts, the outdoors and animals - I have just started a new hobby of wild swimming with friends.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Kings Park Care Home

We had a lovely Open Day at Kings Park
Thank you to everyone that came along to visit us!
It was a busy day, but the highlight was a wonderful afternoon performance by Nigel Revill - Lone Reveller Music, we were singing along and couldn't resist getting up to dance!
The weather was glorious and we enjoyed a cream team, along with some delicious cupcakes freshly baked by our amazing hospitality team.
If you didn't get the chance to join us this time, feel free to pop in and see us, or call our friendly team to arrange a visit - we'd love to welcome you to our beautiful home!

Coffee Morning at Ferndown Library
Our two Ann’s attended the coffee morning for the visually impaired that is held monthly at the Library. A big thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome!
After some time chatting, 22 members of Ferndown First School’s choir came and sang for us, they were amazing!
Our residents absolutely loved the whole event and we will be back next month!
We really enjoyed the short walk there too!

Happy Mothers Day from all of us at Kings Park!
What a beautiful day it's been to celebrate the amazing mums, grandmother's and great grandmother's who bring us so much love and joy in our lives. We've had lots of visitors today, sharing laughter, memories and special moments with their loved ones.
We hope you've all had a wonderful day - you deserve it!

Name that Tune!
We had a fantastic time linking up with our other homes across the country this week for our regular quiz time - this month was a Music Quiz! With staff joining in and a couple of shout-outs for Kings Park, everyone got into the spirit singing along while trying to Name That Tune!

On the Doorstep!
One of the perks of our lovely location at Kings Park is having great places to visit just a short stroll away. On a beautiful day we took advantage of the sunshine and popped next door to Beaconcafe St Mary's Church Ferndown - and what a warm welcome we received.
Our residents enjoyed some delicious refreshments (the shortbread was a particular hit!) and they were so impressed they wanted to personally thank the chef. The friendly staff made us feel right at home, Alan was keen to learn more about the church's history - huge thanks to the team member for taking the time to share their knowledge.
We'll definitely be back soon!

Ladies Who Latte at Kings Park Care Home!
We had the absolute pleasure of hosting the Wimborne/Ferndown Ladies Who Latte networking event. A room full of inspirational, courageous, empowered women in business, each bringing their passion, expertise and energy to the event.
This is an informal, friendly and welcoming group and meets monthly, now hosted by the fantastic Angela Moody. Angela has taken on the role beautifully after recently succeeding the group’s original creator, the fabulous Shelley Barker - Big shoes to fill, but she's an absolute natural!
With over 350 members, the group continues to be a fantastic space for local women to connect, support one another and grow together. If you'd like to join this wonderful community, reach out to our Home Services Advisor at Jane.Shanahan@barchester.com
We’d love to welcome you!
