Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall & Beeston View.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Planning our Activities Calendar
Resident participation and involvement is very important when we are planning our activities calendar, so as we begin 2024 our residents at Iddenshall Hall spent a very productive afternoon reflecting on some of the previous year’s activities, discussing hobbies and interests and suggesting ideas for future activities and events.
Watch this space to see what the New Year brings!
International Flower Day
It is a prominent occasion to send friends and family some flowers and was started in Tasmania back in 2013, when Rohan and Brooke Levy (a father and daughter) were given a bunch of flowers by a stranger. Surprised by this random act of kindness, they then decided to repeat this gesture and give free flowers to almost 300 people on that same day.
The residents at Beeston View were keen to celebrate this day and spent time planting hyacinth bulbs to give to their family and friends.
Beeston View's Darts Champions
Forget all about the current excitement around the World Championships being held at 'Ally Pally', we have our own darts champions here at Beeston View!
Every month we hold our own darts tournament for our residents and staff and are pleased to announce that January's Queen & King of the Arrows are Jean and Harry.
Look out Luke Littler!…
The great outdoors!
The wintry weather may be upon us but the residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View take every opportunity to wrap up warm, get some fresh air and explore our extensive gardens to see what the winter season brings.
The home is a carefully adapted farm house dating back to the 16th century and, whilst oozing charm, elegance and character, has a distinctly homely feel and we love to take advantage of the extensive grounds that comes with it!
Christmas Jumper Day
We are helping to make the world a better place by wearing a festival jumpers today in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.
Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world.
Some of our residents have been very creative and decorated their own glitzy knitwear with tinsel, stars, baubles and snowflakes. It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.
Putting up the decs!
The residents at Iddenshall Hall have spent a very busy week decorating their home for Christmas.
They were so pleased with the results of their hard work that they decided to celebrate a little early with some delicious mince-pies and a little sherry!
