Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Life at Hurstwood View Care Home
Reggie Does Raystede
We took our administrator's puppy, Reggie, on a trip to our local animal rescue centre, where we were able to donate some items they needed whilst having a look at all the different animals and enjoying a coffee in the café after.
Fun in the Sun
In celebration of Dementia Awareness Week, we hosted a garden party and invited other local dementia groups and carers to join us in the sunshine for an afternoon of Pimm's, music and fun. The sun did shine and we all had a jolly time listening and dancing to Stuart Bligh on his guitar.
Incubating Eggs
We would like everyone to meet our newest residents: Henrietta and Rosie, who hatched within our home on 24th and 25th April with a crowd cheering them on. The 2 chicks have taken up residence in our main café area and had lots of cuddles from everyone at the home.
Bunny Hunt
The sun shone and we had many visitors from the local community, staff and family join us to participate in our Easter celebrations. Everyone got involved in our bunny hunt, biscuit decorating and mask making. A great time was had by all!
April Open Day
We all gathered in the communal café to watch the Grand National to see who would be the winner of our in-house sweepstake. We celebrated with themed decorations and bunting, afternoon tea and plenty of Buck's Fizz.
We were pleased to welcome people to view our home and share the excitement of race day.
Chick Visit
We were joined by 12 tiny chicks that were only 2 weeks old. Everyone held 2 chicks each, as they didn't like to be separated, and some even went to say hello to the less mobile residents.
