Activities at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hello my name is Gunel and I joined Barchester team 2020 promoted to Activities Coordinator in November 2022
I love spending time with the residents and getting to know them on personal level, this helps me to support residents to participate and enjoy all the activities in the home. I am really enjoying my role as an Activities Co-Ordinator at Hugh Myddelton House and look forward to meeting you soon.

Life at Hugh Myddelton House Care Home
Long Lost Friends
Recently on an outing to Trent Cafe one of our residents bumped into an old friend. They used to be cab drivers together and haven’t seen each other in over a decade.
We love getting out in our local community and it was wonderful to hear all the stories and memories these two share.
Get walking, Get talking
Recently Hugh Myddelton residents joined the group 'get walking, get talking’.
There are 12 walk leaders and you get to pick which speed you would like to walk at based on what leader you pick.
The walk begins from Trent park cafe at 10.30 and ends between 11.30-12am

ABBA Musical Performance
What a wonderful performance.
Recently we had a fabulous Abba tribute in the home. We were dancing along to old favorites like - mamma mia and waterloo, “having the time of our lives".
We are now looking at what other tribute acts we could have in Hugh Myddelton next time.
Outings with Oomph
This week we had one of our first outings with the new Oomph service.
Oomph helps us take our residents to all different places and events.
This time we headed to Trent Park in Enfield, What a laugh we all had and such delicious treats.
We all cant wait to head out again and try something new.
Visit to the RAF Museum
Our residents visited the RAF Museum in Colindale, London earlier this week.
What an fantastic time we had, our residents were given a personal tour of the museum and a close view of the historic Spitfire.
We all can't wait to go back again soon
Birthday Celebrations
Many residents have recently celebrated their birthdays here at Hugh Myddelton each beautiful cake has been homemade by our amazing Head Chef.
