Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, our activities team dressed in vibrant Mexican costumes, as some of our residents have Mexican heritage. In the morning, they hosted an armchair travel experience, where residents enjoyed a virtual tour of Mexico’s tourist spots, followed by a treat of nachos.  In the afternoon, the team visited individual rooms, surprising residents with their colourful outfits and more nachos. It truly made their day! "It's lovely to see such a variety of activities," Iris said.

It was a special day at Hilton Park when we were treated to an afternoon of live music courtesy of the Wicken Coronation Brass Band. No one was more delighted than Bill when he once again held the instrument he had played for so many years. He was absolutely over the moon, listening to the traditional music he has cherished for over five decades. It was such a lovely afternoon for all of us, and truly heartwarming to see our dear residents so happy, especially as Bill reunited with a few of his friends who are still playing in the band, and a few who came just to see him. A huge thank you to Wicken Coronation Brass Band , especially to Pat, the band’s coordinator, for making one of our resident's wishes come true.  We can’t wait to welcome you back again!

We had an exciting day of ten-pin bowling in Cambridge, which brought out the competitive spirit in our resident's, including those in their later years, who displayed remarkable skill!

Everyone was thrilled and cheered enthusiastically each time a pin was knocked down, filling the lanes with laughter and joy. This enjoyable activity is not only a brilliant way to stay active, but it also strengthens social connections, boosting both physical and emotional well-being.

We can’t wait to make this a regular event for all!

Yesterday, we had a lovely coffee morning to welcome our new residents. It was wonderful to have some great conversations, share ideas about our upcoming activities, and start planning for next month.

We ended the day with a fun game of Bingo, and everyone was excited for the chance to get a full house!!

At Hilton Park we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures. 

We recently had another lovely afternoon out at Anglesey Abbey and Gardens with the residents and there was one resident in particular that had an especially good time.

Joan enjoyed her first trip out since coming to stay at Hilton Park and having her family there made the day even more special for her.

Jenni and the rest of the Activities Team are dedicated to ensuring that we organise outings that encourage our residents to invite their families and friends. Our home is always to open to loved ones who wish to take part in our life enrichment program.

After a very busy August at Hilton Park, the residents decided that they wanted nothing better than a little 'Knit and Natter' so that is exactly what we did.

Here at Hilton Park, we know that being able to continue lifelong hobbies or interests is a key part of our resident's identities, and we make every effort to encourage and support each resident to be able to do so.
