Activities at Glebefields Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ashitha Dinesh
Hi, I'm Ashitha, and I'm proud to be part of the team at Glebefields Care Home as an Activities Assistant. I joined the Glebefields family in 2023, having earned my master’s degree in electrical engineering from Coventry University. Despite my engineering background, I bring a fresh perspective to enriching the lives of our residents. I enjoy creating an environment where they can have fun, connect with others, and stay mind active. Together with my co-workers, I'm dedicated to making every moment special for our residents, bringing happiness and meaning to their lives. It's an honour to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated team at Glebefields Care Home.

Celebrating international beer day in the sunshine
We spent a lovely afternoon out in the courtyard soaking up the sunshine and celebrating International Beer Day together.
There was plenty of fun, laughter, and a good bit of reminiscing too, chatting about the history of beer, how it’s made, and enjoying a little quiz to keep minds buzzing. Of course, there were some tasty nibbles to soak up the beer, and we made sure there was something for everyone, including non-alcoholic beer and a refreshing shandy to enjoy.
A perfect way to spend the afternoon with great company, stories, and sunshine. Cheers to good times.

Celebrating a very special gentleman!
This week, we had the absolute honour of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone — our lovely resident Nevil’s 103rd birthday.
Glebefields was filled with smiles and happiness that only comes with celebrating a life so richly lived... Nevil, with his ever-charming smile and twinkle in his eye, was surrounded by love from fellow residents, all the staff, and friends. Balloons, cake, cards, gifts, and laughter set the perfect tone for this unforgettable occasion.
What made it even more special was a surprise celebration from the Drayton Village Hall community members, who came together to show Nevil just how much he means to them. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and Nevil was absolutely delighted.
It was a day full of beautiful moments, shared memories, and a reminder of the power of community and love. Happy 103rd Birthday, Nevil. You continue to inspire us all every single day.

Mum's the word at Glebefields
A beautiful Mother’s Day celebration at Glebefields, filled with love, laughter, and special moments.
Residents enjoyed visits and video calls from family near and far, making the day extra special. The home was decorated with flowers and bunting, creating a lovely atmosphere for the celebration.
We had a wonderful cake-cutting party, a visit from Lucia and her adorable small farm animals, and plenty of music and gifts for every resident. Our head chef created a lovely Mother’s Day cake, which was enjoyed by all.
A huge thank you to our amazing team for making the day so memorable, and to all the families who helped us celebrate the wonderful mums, grandmas, and special ladies in our lives.

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day at Glebefields
We had a fantastic time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day yesterday, with fun all around the home.
From a delicious Irish-inspired lunch of Irish pork sausages with Colcannon mash, followed by Irish bread pudding, to an afternoon filled with history, quizzes, Irish poetry, crafts and limericks, there was plenty to enjoy.
The celebrations wouldn’t be complete without traditional Irish music, a taste of Guinness, refreshing Green Apple mocktails, and, of course, some Irish shortbread biscuits to snack on.

Happy 90th Birthday to our Lovely Resident, Marlene!
We had a grand celebration at Glebefields Care Home, decorating the entire place to make it a special day for Marlene. As a proud Welsh lady, she was surrounded by her loving family, caring staff, and like-minded friends.
Marlene's family joined us, sharing fond memories of her childhood. Her daughter was thrilled to see her mum celebrating with our residents. Our chef prepared a delicious cake and afternoon snacks, making the celebration even more enjoyable.
Marlene was beaming with happiness, and her family appreciated the love and care we showed her. We're so grateful to have Marlene as part of our Glebefields Family.
We hope Marlene had an amazing day and felt loved and celebrated by our staff and lovely residents. Lots of love from everyone at Glebefields Family.

Happy St David's Day!
Celebrations were under way at Glebefields care home, as residents and staff marked St. David’s Day. Our residents and staff got crafty making St David's Day-themed crafts, and we decorated the home with Welsh flags and daffodils.
We watched Wales tours and traditional dances on TV, and enjoyed delicious Welsh cakes and tea in the afternoon. It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved with the day’s celebrations.
