Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Food Hygiene 5* Very Good

Another wonderful success for our fabulous Head Chef Jon and his hard working team. We had our food hygiene inspection last week and we are happy to say we scored 5, Very Good!

Jon and his team work very hard to provide pour residents with an excellent culinary offering.

Our menus are composed of only the best fresh produce and cooked to the highest quality, with aims for the natural aroma and taste to be retained as best as possible. A great deal of care is taken to accommodate all dietary requirements, and our meals are always prepared with the likes and dislikes of residents taken into consideration.

Violin Afternoon

Another musical treat for our residents!  The son of one of our respite guests happens to play the violin so he kindly came in to perform for everyone.  It was such a huge treat and something a little different from our usual full music agenda.

'National Drink Wine Day'

What a lovely afternoon our residents had over the weekend celebrating 'National Drink Wine Day'.

National Drink Wine Day is held each year on February 18. Wine has been a staple in human culture since its invention in 7000 BC. Some ancient societies enjoyed their wine so much, they even worshiped it! These days, hundreds of types of wine are produced all over the world, so there’s an endless variety to choose from.

Our residents enjoyed sampling some different wines with of course some cheese and crackers to go with.

Trip to B&Q to buy Garden Supplies

As we are now heading towards spring our residents are keen to get their gloves on and start preparing the garden for the summer. We loaded up the minibus and took them along to B&Q to select an array of bulbs and plants along with planters and also some seeds to grow our own tomatoes.

Everyone really enjoyed selecting their favorites and our activities team will now be incorporating 'Garden Club' into their weekly activity schedule.

Poppy Donation

A huge Thank you to Helen for her kind donation of these beautiful poppies for our Café Lounge. Helen kindly donated this wonderful bouquet for our residents to enjoy. Seen here with 'Dawson' one of our PAT (Pets as Therapy) dogs that she brings in regularly to visit everyone here at Falmouth Court.

Our residents love their visits with Dawson. He is such a calm and lovely boy and as we all know there is nothing better than animal therapy. Something we aim to provide a lot of here.
