Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Dereck Valenti Saxophonist visit Falmouth Court

A truly heartwarming evening held at Falmouth Court this week. A talented saxophonist, Dereck Valenti came to perform for the residents and it was amazing! The music was so beautiful and everyone was tapping their feet and singing along. By the end of the evening some residents were even up dancing. It's amazing to see how much joy music can bring to people, especially those who may feel isolated or lonely. Hats off to this amazing musician for brightening up the day of these wonderful folks!

Painting Afternoon

Just had a wonderful afternoon here at Falmouth Court. The residents had a painting session and it was amazing to see their creativity come to life on the canvas. It's so heartwarming to see how much joy and fulfillment these activities bring to their lives. Our Activities team really knows how to make each day special for their residents. #carehome #paintingafternoon #creativity #fulfillment #joy

Falmouth Memory Cafe Visit

Today was such a heartwarming experience as we took our beloved care home residents on a trip to the Falmouth Memory Cafe to watch a beautiful choir performance from 'The Suitcase Singers'. It was amazing to see the joy and happiness on their faces as they tapped their feet and sang along to their favorite tunes. The trip was truly a magical experience that will stay with us all forever. Thank you to the Falmouth Memory Cafe and the choir for making this possible.

Music Therapy with Claire

This week our residents enjoyed a fabulous musical afternoon with Claire.

It was thoroughly enjoyed by both residents and staff. Claire performed quite the variety of songs throughout the afternoon and combines music with movement which is always beneficial for our residents.

St.Patricks Day Celebrations

Residents and staff at Falmouth Court celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day last week.

Held on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day actually observes the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Staff and residents at the home marked the day by decorating the home with green garlands and four leaf clovers and listening to Irish music. Guinness and Irish coffees were on offer throughout the day and then in the evening a singer came an performed for everyone in our beautiful lounge.

St.Pirans Day Celebrations

Our Residents had a lovely time celebrating St.Pirans Day this week. Pasties made by our talented chefs were served for lunch and then in the afternoon our activities team carried out a Cornish Trivia quiz and everyone enjoyed some saffron buns and coffee.

"St. Piran's Day was said to be a favourite with the tinners who having a tradition that some secrets regarding the manufacture of tin were communicated to their ancestors by that saint, they leave the manufacture to shift for itself for that day, and keep it as a holiday."
